Nathan I've watched this wave break for almost 30 years and even though you slammed the reef on one of those waves I still think you somehow made it look much more accessible than it actually is. That to me is a testament of how good you actually are, I take my hat off sir, bravo!

Leaving North Shore young pulled me away from my dreams, but growing up Hawaii taught me to make due with what you've got where you are, and I picked up snowboarding. Yo Nate, one of my favorite shots is from inside the wave watching the surfer slice through but it never lasts long enough. Could you possibly get a personal submersible hand held thingy and have your filmer follow fast enough to catch the whole shot? Make sense? You know, it looks like a torpedo you hold on to. Think it could go fast enough? Might be a first in surf videography.

As an added comment about a subject that we all have had...let's talk about "The Day I Was Dead"...the hold downs, the stuck leashes, the concussions, the times when it all went wrong, and luck ruled the day...let's admit it, all of us adventure sports junkies (their term, not ours) has one of those stories (or more) about the day when we knew it wasn't our choice whether we lived...or died...I will post this on several other podcasts...dj

i often show up to locations where there is a main wave thats more user friendly and with 50 guys on it, and just down the coast is a heaving slab with nobody around! my favorite kinda spot!
