POV surfing with the Insta360 X4 

I have been using the X3 and now X4 for over a year surfing and love it. The lens protrude outward and water drops are a real problem. I mount the camera either on the nose of my longboard or use a homemade floating selfie stick made from PVC pipe. So fun to edit surfing clips in the Insta360 Studio on my PC.

My mouth mount is like yours but I use it with the mount down - better balance and not a distraction IMO. That looks like a fantastic camera though!

Definitely the last one right beside his head is a better angle and probably more confortable for the surfer. I like the first angle thru the pier also but the fear of losing the camera just holding on while biting probably not the best. Unless put a leash on the camera as well. You have a good friend for trying out the camera for you.

Wow, great camera (friend and surfer). They're all interesting, but the first angle w/handheld or mouth seem to give the best perspective, though challenging to manage. While I'd like to try my gp hero 8 on the board, I don't know if there's any way I can do it w/o distracting from actual surfing (or whatever I'm doing) or so as to help my learning. Some months ago, I used it snowboarding, but w/so many photos and videos, plus work to do, I have yet to watch it. Anyway, what's great about channels like yours, Brad, is that it's not just about surfing - but camera audio, photography, storytelling, technique, and videography.☮️

I so wanna get a Insta360! Works amazing on Motorcycle POV’s too. This set up would be best mounted on the board or by free hand I think

The cam is on a leash right? Why not wear it on a headstrap?

Do you think a chest mount would work? If your chest is up when paddling I would expect it to work?

Be fun to see at the wedge on a day that's pumping when you get sand drilled at the end. Hope it has GPS when it gets torn off your victim er volunteer.
