This reminds me of my best friend growing up. I moved away, but we reunited years after and it was like no time had passed. He promised me he'd never leave me, but took his life a few months after we'd reunited. I promised him I'd love him forever and I still do.

If you have never made a promise yet, heres one that would break the system: I promise I have one mark. If you promise you have a mark, and you don’t, you would break it, giving you a mark. But now that you have a mark, you are keeping to your promise, and like in the video, you can break and repair promises. Thus, an infinite loop happens, and whatever thing running the whole mark system breaks. However, if there is a block against saying that, there is one other that would be exponentially bad to you the moment you break a promise, however it may be worse than the infinite loop: I promise that no promises I make will be broken. See, if you haven’t broken a promise, you’re fine. Nothing will happen, as the promise was true. But, the moment you break a promise, you get a mark for breaking it, as well as one for breaking the one above. But, since you broke the one above, you are still breaking a promise, getting you another mark, etc. meaning that this is a easily exploitable system. Ofc, then if they break saying the word promise twice in a sentence or something, then it won’t work, but whatever.

This would actually make for a really cool movie.

This reminds me of my dad(he passed away 7 years ago) he used to always say "don't always promise people what you can't do or afford" , before he died I promised him I will always be the best I can be and take care of my family. Every 5th of December and 19th of July I visit his grave and say the same promise
