I love that you are so humble you messed up it happens to the best of us but I like that you didn’t say something like “I didn’t mess up I practice to much” ❤
yeah, you literally get taught to keep playing and find your place again if you make a mistake no matter what because its impossible to tell that you did and its what people do. part of the learning process
Thanks for posting this. I was a mellophone in the Pride in 1996 and people who have never been a part of the greatest marching band in history. Running out of that tunnel was one of the biggest rushes I’ve ever experienced in my life. I came from a small town in Oklahoma where the school hates the band so our parents were the only ones who ever gave a crap about us. Then I came to OU and marching from Catlett to the stadium and seeing EVERYONE going nuts for us was a dream come true.
That’s so cool you are in the Pride of Oklahoma marching band my brother Keegan Turner was a freshman in this video he is also a trumpet player in the Pride of Oklahoma
Ohio state fan here, you guys sound pretty good, idk but the uniforms and lighting feel nostalgic for some reason Also fight for O.K.U sounds like "Cabana in Havana" by glenn miller"
Definitely practice the music! Everything is based on your audition. The better you do, the harder part you get, so definitely practice! Once you get in, it’s super fun and all the stress goes away. So make sure you try!
Man it was my dream when I was little to be in the Pride of Oklahoma marching band. That never happened but I love getting to see what it would be like. Especially from a trumpeter because that's what I play, so thank you so much for this unique perspective.
Do they just decide who's first trumpet based on height? My marching band makes a lot more sense now lol. All jokes aside, yalls marching was super in sync and it sounded great
