She cried out in agony as the man she loved ripped her wings from her back. Tears streaming down her face she begged him to stop, but he didn’t. Her left wing went first, almost similarly to pulling out a tooth her love twisted and pulled harshly a sickening crack was heard as the wing was ripped from the flesh. The right wing was much harder and required tools for removal. The discarded wings lay on the ground bloodied and chunks of flesh still connected. The fairy sobbing hysterically in pain of losing her wings and her love. The man quietly watched tears silently streaming down his face. “I’m sorry…” he whispered to her, “this was the only way the king would let you live, and stay by my side.”
“Slowly now, slowly…that’s it girl” Your comrades cheered as you managed to stand up straight, albeit a little wobbly, but standing up nevertheless. Your scorched back that was now completely wingless made all the other fairies wince. They did not know how you possessed so much strength to survive the fires, but all they knew was that their strongest was still alive and that’s all that mattered. “We must, turn back” you hissed, quietly seething under the pain. But you were met with silence. Lifting your head up, you saw all the faces of your fellow fairies. Fear, grief, anxiety. Your fists balled at the sight. Tossing the arms of those holding you upright, you instantly fell to your knees. Just when hands reached out to support you again, you held a single palm up signalling not a single fairy is to touch you. “Our Queen” you coughed, pressing both fists into the boat as you mustered all your remaining strength into your arms. “Our King, our children” You had now straightened up despite still being on your knees. Craning your neck up, you locked eyes with all your fearful friends hoping to give them morale. “Our land, has been taken from us. The land we have resided on for generations. The land that we were born on. The land we are destined to die upon. Our home.” Practically wobbling, it took so much for the others not to catch you, but every time it seemed you would tumble over you didn’t. You held your balance. “We are not cowards. We are not the puny winged insects they think we are. We are strong. We were once proud legends within history itself. We have a legacy to uphold.” “Captain-“ “I am no longer your Captain!” you screamed sending the fairies into shock. They watched regretfully as you staggered up by yourself, visibly wincing underneath all the pain and soreness of your back. But you stood up all on your own. “I am nothing. Do not mistake me for anything more” You thumb bit the inside of your palm at your statement. You once held so much pride in being a fairy, in your wings. But they had been taken from you now. All you had left were the people around you. You were going to protect them with your life. “What are you doing?!” You screamed yet again as the young man in front of you began to tear a part of his wing off. “Stop! S-stop it!” but he continued, successfully tearing it. He stared in awe at the luminescence of him. “My grandmother told me many years ago” the young man began. “We fairies are magic itself. We are made of magic.”, with a smile upon his lips, you were too shocked to protest to what he was doing. You jerked forward as you felt your back warm up. He had placed his torn wing into your back. And to your surprise your back had accepted it as it healed around the little piece. Marvelling at the sight, the other fairies understood what to do without question. You watched in panic as they all began tearing pieces of their wings off. “You have done so much for us, Captain” “You saved my son” “You saved my daughter” “You have saved our lands countless times” Their warm smiles, their selflessness, their bravery. It made you tear up. Many wing tears and shiny pieces later. You felt that familiar feeling of life behind you. Too afraid to open your eyes, you felt two strong hands cup your face. “Do not be afraid. We have our land to save do we not, my Captain?” Nervously opening your lids, you were met with another man, an older one and his smile. His very warm smile. “Do not hurt any more”, another woman whispered as she stroked your healed back. Turning around, your tears gushed out without warning as you saw your new wings. A bright, golden shine they had to them. They were the largest pair of wings you had ever seen in all your years of living. Despite visibly uneven with all the outlines of the different pieces clear as day, they all possessed the same golden hue. Somehow, it made them so much more beautiful; the imperfections were perfection. “Please, fly high”, baffled at the tiny voice, you realised only when you looked down that it came from that of a little boy. A little boy who held a partially burnt teddy bear. Your heartache, you remembered it. But it was different now. “Watch me. Just watch me. Only me.” you swore to them after giving the little boy a few head pats. Gazing at the fires that continued to your forests, you felt the fire in your heart all the more. “I will fly, we will fly, for our home we will fly.” The sounds of the sea splashing against the boat, the feeling of the wind blowing past you, the feeling of batting your wings again for the first time. You would remember it all. “We will fly together”
Fairies aren't like humans. That much was known by anyone paying attention to them, they were shorter and held a curious but captivating beauty, beautiful wings lied on their backs and magic pouring from their souls, they were truly ethereal. But what they didn't know, was that they had to share their souls with a tree, as long as the tree was alive, so was the fairy it was attached to. These trees were beautiful, sporting a breath taking array of colours and infused with raw magic, so they were dubbed Fairy Trees. If you were to cut a fairy tree down though, you would be acting out one of the cruellest acts you could do. When a tree is cut down, the soul dies, and the tree never regrows, it says a rotting, ashen stump and as for the fairy connected to it? They would crack and crumble, until they were nothing but a cold, broken husk of who they used to be, their bodies hollowed out as all emotion and warmth left them, only the feelings of hurt and despair would stay, as their eyes would become leaking gold orbs to represent their eternal sadness. A Husk knew this well. She had fallen in love with an injured merchant when she was a fairy, and nursed him back to health. He would come and visit her every day in the forest she was unable to leave, bringing her gifts and trinkets of the outside world she had become so curious of, for the longest time, she trusted and believed he loved her back. So, she decided to grant him the ultimate act of trust a fairy could ever bestow, she showed him where her Fairy Tree was. She lead him deep in the grand forest, straight to the heart of it where her tree stood. He stared at it in awe, and then, to her horror, he brought out an axe and started chopping it down. Each Chop felt like agony as she begged and screamed at him to stop, but he didn't listen, the Merchant was greedy and a fairy tree sold for unbelievably large amounts of money, so he kept chopping until it fell. As she wailed out in betrayal and heartbreak, he made off with her tree, her entire body crumbling as any good feeling she had, and spark of joy was stripped from her and replaced with heartbreak and pain and despair, her eyes turning gold and bleeding the liquid. Perched on top of the stump, forever alone, forever broken, wailing to the moon, this poor creature would never forgive and never forget the harsh greed of mankind. Yes, it was indeed true fairies weren't like humans, for they had pure hearts, that trusted honeyed lies too easily. Which always resulted in a fate worse then death
The second piece (The ultimate Price) is from the anime series called violet evergarden. Honesty, it's one of the most beautiful shows I've ever seen. If you haven't watched it yet then please watch it 🥺💕
***ANGST AHEAD*** POV: The battle was lost. The fairy knew this long before she reached the battlefield. Yet here she was. Predestined to wallow in the shadows of defeat. 'Look at me.' The fairy gasped for air, writhing on her hands and knees. Her wings were shredded and broken. No longer illuminating with light. No longer a daughter of the sky. Forever, a prisoner on earth. 'please.' Ancient pillars of stone began to crumble around her. But she didn't care as she stared on towards the knight and his true love---her sister. Every golden afternoon---every starlight night---when he came to the meadows. She prayed to the stars it was her he came to see. If the stars could think then how foolishly they must have thought of her. She watched as both lights of her life faded away into the moonshine. Her true love chose death. Her sister chose him. No one chose the fairy. It felt as if her presence alone was violating a sacred act that no one should bear witness too. The knight and sister's hands intertwined, smiling to the other. The fairy's heart cracked. "No." She cried a whisper. Voice breaking. Their bodies became translucent, neither broke their gaze from the other. "Stop." "Kiss me," Her sister's form began to fade away. Glimmers of sparkling light rose up to meet the moonshine. "One last time." The fairy screamed. Their kiss shattered the night. And away the glimmering remnants of their souls drifted up towards the sky and danced with solemn reverence among the stars. Alone, the fairy wept. Alone, she was forced to live on. Alone, she choose to live.

when i listening to this type of music, for some reason I feel a "happy sadness" that covers my body, starting from the ears and ending with the tips of the feet like as if for the first time I feel and see colors, but they are still dark shades
