What I've heard from Bompastor is that she wanted the players to treat the preseason friendlies as competitively as possible. It is partly about getting match fit for the season but for the new players it is a way to assert yourself into a starting position for the league and the more important games. Like for instance, the word is that Wieke Kaptein was going to have another loan into a WSL club but her preseason has been so good that she might be playing regularly for the season
@@DerekLangdon-w9e yes theres is a difference with "friendly" matches and the difference is whether you like it or not that friendly matches don't have to be played with the exact same force you would play a real season simply because you DON'T want players to get badly hurt or injured before the actual season. so Yes it is good to play with force in friendly matches but not with so much force that could end up in injuries.
