Hello and thank you for tuning into my channel.
This is the third in my mini-series, on my Powder Coating Process. This one is all about Improving the Component before the application of the powder.
I feel that this is a very important stage, as it gives you the opportunity to examine the part carefully, for any damage, small manufacturing defects or areas that can be improved to give you a better finished component.
The things to look for are obvious bent, cracked or broken features. You should also be looking for unfinished manufacturing processes as I am doing in this video. Processes like weld spatter or small bits of welding wire (as I have seen many times on fabricated parts), or in this case, I have found a lot of casting flash, that was left over from the mass-produced castings that these rear hubs are made from.
It is too late if you skip over this stage as you will a powder coated part that could have looked even nicer.
Please feel free to comment on the channel, I would love to hear your views and if you have had any bad experiences with powder coating.
Or contact me via email at info48spokes@yahoo.com if you would like to discuss having any of your classic car/bike components powder coated of alloy parts bead blasted to improve the metal finish.
Special thank you to all my subscribers
Special thank you to Adam Vitovsky for providing the very catchy Rock and Roll music on the intro and outro of my videos. Adam can be contacted at www.AdamVitovsky.com and can supply free music for your channel.
Finally, the music on this video was supplied by the RU-vid Audio Library and is called “Anomalous Hedges" by "Mini Vandals”.
Kind regards Paul
