You should look up the Bayou Classics battle of the bands. It's every year the day after Thanksgiving. We always battle Grambling University

Trust me Gates ķnows all about the Human Jukebox. He literally grew up blocks away from campus..

This and I love how they interlock all the brass horns in where their strong hits and accented scenes in the music are. And all these moving lines are increasing the power and effect of the other sections.

@@CRed2409 The Jukebox is built on 3 pillars. The Jaguar Rock, tempo and the articulated cut-off. His/her note is an eight note, but plays a quarter note. That's not playing the music as written. It's selfish and sloppy and ruins the performance for the entire band. These trashy attention seeking members who hold over these notes will never reveal who they are, why, because they know it's not musicianship and beneath the dignity of the band. The section leaders are supposed to put a stop to this nonsense. But ultimately it falls on the directors. The trumpet section should have to pull some all night sectionals until this huge problem is eradicated. Drop another coin in that Jukebox, baby!

@@divanteirby6401 This is a very immature comment. But I'll respond anyways. The Jukebox has always pushed watts. One reason is because sound diminishes as it travels, so to hear it on beat across the field, you go up tempo and push watts. To keep structure, an articulated cut-off by every member is essential to a superb sound success. Southern band has always achieved success as a unit, not as individuals. So the selfish trumpeters whom always seem to desire more attention than everyone else ends up making the band seem undisciplined and desperate. As for me, I'm a part of the Jukebox in the video below, trombone section. Go to the six twenty five mark to check us out. I played in the 1st trombone section and was the first crab picked onto the field into squad 1. Speaks for itself as to whether or not I had talent. If you or anyone you know that marched at SU, they know what skills are needed to be placed close to where I landed.
