My Nissan Rogue literally started making this noise a week ago. It's crazy that I looked up "car door making noise when unlocking" and you're literally working on my car LOL
Dealership wanted around a $1000 for parts and labor to replace my door actuator on a 2013 Rogue. I bought a $35 actuator off Amazon and, using this video, installed it in about an hour this morning. Thank you for the tutorial, sir!
Heard this exact sound today in my infinity Q50. Started making this sound from my rear driver side door when the automatic door locks activate. It was so loud it damn near made me s**t myself lol.

This worked great for me in 2015 Nissan Rogue Select! ... A couple steps were different as I had to remove that handle piece than a bolt behind it which held the door panel in place, then you start pulling from an indentation at the front of the door to remove the panel... Also, after pulling out the noisy activator, I couldn't figure out how to access the other end of the lone cable very easily still inside the door frame, so I ended up using that cable with the new actuator. So glad I spent the $40 on Amazon instead of at least 10x that for parts and labor to have a shop replace it.
I would love for Nissan to offer that particular part that is obviously defective as wear and tear occurs instead of purchasing the entire mechanism. It's very pricy if you purchase from dealership or even an auto shop.

Good video man. Solid. My g does the same thing but its only when i lock it after its locked already. Those lock mechanisms arent cheap even used ones.
That was a great video. Now we can fix her lock and look for a used one. Thank you so much. I wish you would make a video on the moon roof tubes that goes all the way down to the floor. I dont need it to go farther than my dash, the sun didnt get to it, I can end it there with rubber cup links that will connect the plastic and the same with the top. My problem is I can't get the overhead to drop. Something is keeping it up. I have removed the computer. Visor, hand rails, then seat belt, panels. After so many years the plastic tubes become corroded from summer heat and water that freezes and expands . It becomes dust in your hands! I have the right hoses and if I can get the overhead to drop and have access, once fixed it will outlast the truck! I have done alot of the work on the jeep myself. The truck is 2001 grand jeep Cherokee and I have been the only driver. The truck is pretty new from all the attention. It has many more years and I love the truck. Thank the Gods for you tube!!

My 2011 Nissan Altima does this. It was obvious the motor was defective here. However, I watched 2 other videos that showed a pin on the side of the motor had popped out and the fix was to push that pin back in. So, I guess it's possible there are 2 ways to fix this.

370z - Same problem - Do you know if it can be removed without drilling out the rivets holding the inner door panel? The Z/G two door vehicles don't have the same ease of access as the 4 door Nissans...
My wife’s 2018 versa has that sound everytime uou lock it witht the key fab. I wonder if its broken like that. Still locks and unlock tho. Only makes the sound on locking. You think its broken like that?
I have a 2015 Nissan Quest minivan its the same sound, but I have a bigger issue the door is closed and wont open. I have tried manually to unlock it and I also drove it around hoping it would engage the lock no dice... I even tried unlocking the door with the physical key still, no dice... any tips? and is it called an actuator? Thanks I like and subscribed, commented and will share this video also.. @Sammy Dickerson you are going to have to remove the door panel and try and get to the latch the best way you can it's not going to be easy though and it is called the door lock actuator. Thanks for watching

My X Trail just started making this noise now on the passenger door, how much is the part new does anyone know, in the meantime I'm just not going to lock it
@Alexlcey I don't remember the exact tool but I usually show and mentioned the tools I use in my videos, as for the parts you can get it on ebay or Amazon you just need to put in the vehicle's info, year, date, make and model. Thank you for uploading this because my Nissan Juke is having the same problem so now I can address the issue. Can you share where you were able to find a used actuator? I have looked online and the lowest I can find is $60.

What's the problem having this noise? I wonder if worth the aggravation and cost to fix such problem. I thought Nissan as a Japanese company had long lasting vehicles. Can't wait to buy another car before more things start to fall apart
@Carlos Oliveira the noise is caused by broken gears in the motor but I wouldn't waste money getting the part from the dealer aftermarket seems to last longer. Thanks for watching please Subscribe if you haven't already
Eventually it fails completely and your door will not lock with the key fob and you need to manually use the key in the door to turn the lock or use the lock on the door from the inside. If it fails in a weird lock orientation it will think it's locked when it isn't actually locked and your alarm will go off every time you open the door whether you have "unlocked it" or not.

Appreciate the video but bummed you didn't replace just the gear. Seems like a huge waste of money to buy a used actuator that will have the same problem instead of replacing with a new gear.

@@BIGWILLSCARCARE I just realized that my rogue isn’t the same after I opened the panel, I think my is 2013 which is newer, because I have to take module out as well in order to reach to that actuator. Also, for me it was T25.
