The Mike Hill series was excellent, and this looks like you're going to try and top it. Based on this first episode I think you will. I can't imagine the time and effort that went into this, I really hope it reaches the size of audience it deserves. And I'm so grateful that it's out here for us to watch for free. So excited for this series!!

I love this collaboration. Beautifully illustrated and articulated. Yorke’s quotes were perfect here, as were your film choices. I’m a sci-fi junkie so those were fun. Hardship truly is the gateway to growth - no way around it. We either choose to discover the silver-lining lessons within each circumstance and become better, or we become beaten down by resisting their offerings. Life is so much more radiant when we embrace them, as Joseph described, we find the poetry and the epiphane. Or, Zero. ❤️ Loved the Samsara and Nirvana references and appreciate their exploration. The monomyth, or Hero’s Journey, truly is a journey of psychological self-responsibility requiring death and resurrection. We can never achieve our greater reincarnations without willingly embarking on this path and being open to its lessons. And, our multicultural stories provide limitless opportunity to grow. Thank you for this!

Unexpected and appreciated

That was fabulous!

Very powerful video. Most people have a hard time breaking the mold due to the fears of repercussions from people such as government authorities or being ostracized by loved ones or friends even. There is always a sense that God has put us here for a reason, that each and every one of us has been given a job. Some may never tune into that note that narrows their direct path to that job. Some muddle around until they find that path. Others jump face first in the fire (the entrepreneurs, innovators, etc). I feel I struggle with the ego in making a hero's journey leap (my personal issue is feeling cocky with feeling that I alone can make a difference, I am just a spec of dust in existence in our vast universe). I work in medical software so that in the end, if my software and innovations can help with saving lives, that may be part of my calling. On the side I am helping a small team with their video game development. I still feel an emptiness that there is still more out there for me. Maybe that means I need to explore other avenues such as bitcoin.

If you’re not already familiar, you may be interested in Rick’s book, ‘The Creative Act: A Way of Being’. Thought to share, as it seems to blend well with this series. In the end the Hero's Journey just shows how our brains are structured. It's confronting the Snake (reptile response) that helped you survive as a child that inhibits the adult, by facing and replacing that we have to tap into our unexplored human resources.

In deed, storytelling is what distinguishes us from animal. It was very interesting to watch the story of the hero in 2 of my favorite moves. Having said that, would be happy to see more of similar content. I think you should also invite BitcoinFilmFest to your show.

No wants to hear the loser's journey? lol I guess even Darth Vader ended up a hero at the end, barely. Is the story of redemption the same thing? Weird how it was briefly revealed that Anakin Skywalker was an immaculate conception, and his mother was slave.

I like the idea for this series, but it would be great if you incorporate examinations not just of films/stories that just purely support the thesis. You don't have to look far; Dostoevsky's novels, the films of Godard, Ozu, etc.
