Now as an adult, I really appreciate the meta adult dialogue from villains like Zedd and Ivan. Investing for 6000 years, Charlie horses and the Brady Bunch
@@kendall_knows_best2872 muscle spasm in the leg. He mentioned that in the 6000 years he's been trapped he's had one since the Renaissance era. Which means he's had one from the 1300s to 1995 when he got released. 695 years of leg pain.
This scene was so terrifying for me as a kid. Just seeing the ooze coming through the entrance had me shaking. The fact that Ivan ooze was able to breach the command center so easily without any rangers around was the closest thing to watching a horror flick when I was 7 years old.
Me too!! Every time I heard Zordon say “Ivan is on his way here” it scared me. Like unwanted guest coming to you house at night but this time they are breaking in and your helpless. Yeah, I had an active imagination as a kid. Aside from maybe Tommy we never had the CC breached. It always felt safe there. On a side note I did love the destruction part. I always recreated it with my toy CC I had as a kid.
The way Zordon groans in pain is haunting. I felt bad for him in this movie. It's also kind of surreal how Ivan is amusing in his dialogue as he destroys the Command Center, and yet he's scary as all hell.
@@corey-bird3489 Damn straight! Ivan was so powerful, so unbeatable, that the Rangers needed some BS cosmic event just to get rid of him! They couldn’t even really hurt him! Heck, he tossed their goddamn Megazord like it was a rag doll! What other villain did that, huh?
@@omarcogle1965 Damn right! Even without Ivan's magic, Zedd couldn't even really hurt him! Speaking of whom, the newly-revived Lord Zedd is showing real promise in the latest Power Rangers series. Hopefully, they don't botch him up.
"You robbed me in my prime, i ruled over the most powerful galactic empire in the universe and now it's time, to pay the piper" play the flute .....zap boom...." oh the wonderful things I have missed, the black plague...zap boom.....The Spanish inquisition.....zap boom.....the Brandy bunch reuion....zap boom......Ha ha ha "
The monologue Ivan Ooze is giving about the things he missed the first two things were in the script Ivan Ooze’s actor Paul Frees ad libbed the Brady Bunch Reunion part. The Director loved it so much and was laughing so hard he kept it in the movie.
1:16 "Not to mention I've had a charlie horse since the Renaissance" what the hell ? I've seen this movie a thousand times and I never heard Ivan say that until now hahahaha !!
How can someone have a charlie horse for about four centuries? I mean, the Renaissance was in the 1500s, right? So that makes it four centuries. How can someone, intergalactic or not, have a charlie horse for THAT long?
And brighter... why couldn't Zeo use it? They got a better budget and spent it on that one bathed in gloomy blue lights when this set could have been saved and repurposed.
@@malachiroberts6198 They would've had to ship it from Australia to CA, store it for a few years, rebuild it, and either re-design Zordon's tube or build a new one because this was a very expensive CGI Zordon. TL Dr was easier and cheaper to just build a new one.
If Alpha got destroyed this would go very differently, no pulling new powers out of nowhere, no teleporting to anywhere. Without Alpha, Zordon is essentially helpless unless the Rangers understand how the Command Center works.
Alpha used a karate chop. A move he definitely learned from the rangers 😢 (Altho yeah in episode one Jason clearly states that martial arts is not about beating people up, then again trespassing is arguably the first aggressive move. If someone broke in your house and say you’ve already called cops etc, would you wait for them to strike you or would you immediately attempt to subdue them given the chance?)
@@malachiroberts6198 actually that’s a super interesting point. Some people shit on Alpha 5 but If Alpha 5 were a more battle capable robot, Ivan ooze might have gone to the trouble of killing him and yeah the power rangers wouldn’t have gotten crucial info. So. Something about how everyone has a place and a role and thing that you think makes you shit is an advantage in certain situations? In Alphas case, being weak means nobody bothers to kill him?
@@malachiroberts6198 I know right? But of course, since this is a superhero movie, and a very cheesy one at that like the rest of the Power Rangers franchise, the writers have to take pity on the heroes in order to give them a chance to save the day.
This scene always terrified me and made me cry as a kid, seeing Ivan oozing out of the door and destroying the command center, while Zordon was vulnerable and could only watch helplessly and in terror
Me back when it came out-“I can’t wait to be a teen and I wanna be a Power Ranger” Me Now 27 Years Later-“yeah I can totally relate and understand Ivan Ooze”
And when you look at it now compared to the first 3 Seasons of Mighty Morphin, Ivan Ooze was more of a bigger threat compared to Rita, Zedd, Rito and Master Vile.
@@omarcogle1965 absolutely. Very good world leader brainwashing the parents, getting the youth on his side, ancient advanced technology, locking up potential allies. Modern day elitist but cool and hilarious!
@@DarthVoxyn You know what's sad to be honest, Ivan Ooze did what no other villain in the Zordon era did from jump, take out the main source of the Power Rangers powers.
@@omarcogle1965 yeah onscreen anyway. Although Lord Zed is the first on TV to completely destroy the command center thus leading to the Zeo series. I really don’t want to give Divatox credit for doing it to because her cronies just stumbled upon the chamber by pure luck.
The director and/or the writer of the movie probably hate the show, "The Brady Bunch" and put "The Brady Bunch Reunion" as a terrible event in history likes "The Black Plaque" and "The Spanish Inquisition" .
@@puzzle1022 Paul Freeman was a Brady Bunch fan? He probably made the villain, Ivan Ooze a fan of the Brady Bunch as well. Zordon and Alpha 5 probably hate the Brady Bunch.
@@billmcdonnell79 Like I said, I'm not 100% certain that Paul Freeman was a Brady Bunch fan. But I can say with 100% certainty that Paul Freeman did ad-lib the "Brady Bunch reunion" line at that moment. The Directors liked it so much that they decided to keep it. Sources: www.imdb.com/title/tt0113820/trivia allthetropes.fandom.com/wiki/Mighty_Morphin_Power_Rangers/Trivia
I would’ve asked Ivan Ooze, “What has that got to do with the darkest hours in Human History? And what about the American Revolutionary War, the American Civil War, and especially World War 1 and World War 2? Huh?”
@@davidedrada6427 The logical answer is it's a movie aimed at kids. But isn't it twistedly funny to ponder the implication that the Brady Bunch Reunion was worse than those things?
@@davidedrada6427 That's the joke. For the target audience of this movie, being forced to watch the brady bunch reunion would have been just as horrifying. I would have gnawed off a limb just to escape.
That’s because he’s the only villain powerful enough, and good enough, to actually GET THE JOB DONE! Zedd is a decent big bad, but Rita is intolerable! All she does is whine and complain! How Zedd can stand LISTENING to her let alone marrying her is beyond me! Maybe she put a spell on him to make him marry her, like how she messed with love in that love potion episode.
The fact that Ivan Ooze had actually managed to destroy both the Command Center and nearly kill Zordon before Lord Zedd, Rita Repulsa, Divatox, and the Dark Specter all did.
@@VampireFan-rf5kb bruh....why would anyone not know this lol? I clearly talk about Turbo transitioning into In Space. I mean the Turbo movie even had a Zedd and Rita that had given up in it so even a toddler could follow the sequence of events/season 🤦🏼♀️😂
That’s ironic since I thought Christopher Lloyd was playing him at the time since Paul Freeman sounded so much like him in a few scenes, especially the scene when the Tengu Warriors came back to tell him about Dulcea aiding the Rangers before he blew them up with his lightning attack.
I always loves how Ooze just wants to make peoples lifes miserable. He's not like a Darth Vader villain where his actions are justified by his mind set. He just wants to watch the world burn and be fowl🤣 It's also amusing how some how he's aware of some of the worst things that have happened in human history 😅
Ooz: Oh the things I have missed, The Black Plague Me: sickening Ooz: the Spanish Inquisition Me: Dios Mios Ooz: The Brady Bunch reunion Me: oh my........ wait, what was that last one?
Rita should have just had Tommy shoot up the school while the rangers were untransformed. She knows their identities, their schedule, and where they’ll be. Miss Applebees class 4th period.
@@walmartpimp2 Yeah and that would've pissed off a whole lot of parents thinking that Power Rangers would teach school shootings if they had Tommy do that.
"Do you have any idea what it's like to be locked up in a rotten egg for six thousand years?" he asks the guy who's been stuck as a floating head in a tube for *ten* thousand years.
Ivan Ooze: Oh, put a sock in it, Z. Ten minutes out of the egg, and I'm already listening to one of your lectures. You locked me up into your stuffy little hyper-lock chamber and tossed me away into the depths like yesterday's trash. @@richardwilson9252 Reboot Rita from 2017 wasn't weak. Like Ivan, she was out for blood, she pulled up in Trini's bedroom trying to kill her, and she also killed Billy. OG Rita and Zedd from both Series and OG movie were soft.
really wish they had kept this version of the command centre, like i know they destroyed the set and all but i do wish they had tried to recreate it on the show. Maybe Hasbro's new movie will have it look more like this. I can dream.
Don't forget the ALL NEW POWER RANGER MOVIE TOYS! Get the same toys we've advertised for two straight seasons and you've begged your parents to waste their hard earned money on AGAIN! How are they any different? Easy we added a slight redesign that cost us next to nothing but we'll up charge the hell out off it! Fox Kids and Saban, we love 22 minute ads and furry fetishist!
Not to be nitpicky, but if Ivan Ooze was trapped for 6,000 years, how would he have even known what the Brady Bunch was, let alone know there was a reunion... LOL. :D

@@DarthVoxyn And you know what's crazy, that in Season 3, Lord Zedd could've One Shotted Zordon, Alpha and the Rangers instead of the Super Villain monologue when he set foot in the Command Center.
Talk about waking a sleeping giant. When I saw this as a kid I wanted to jump through the screen and help Zordon. I saw this in the theater and we used to play it over and over on VHS I think my sister still has it. Honestly love this one more than the new power rangers movie. Walter White couldn't even save it
