While I prefer Hikaru as a character, Daggeron dominates this scene. All the original footage definitely helps show his badassery.

It really sucks that PR stopped producing theme songs for the sixth Rangers. One of the things they kept in Super Sentai.

I grew up watching Power Rangers, but I really gotta say that I’m liking the original Japanese version much more. It’s pacing is much more relaxed, like, it doesn’t feel the need to keep the action going non stop with fast editing and over the top music, and the villains are a bit more entertaining, too. It‘s also fine with showing a bit more violence, scarier situations, blood, and even outright death, which feels refreshing. I hate when a show aimed at kids tries to shy away from these things, so it makes me happy that Sentai doesn’t.

Hikaru sensei and Urara gets married in the show and I was so happy for them cuz I shipped them hardcore in the show

they're both ok but hikaru had a more personal relationship with some of the magirangers. plus hikaru had a personality.

And this is how Urara met her future husband. It's funny to image how they kids would react to reveal that they dad was turned into frog by bad guy and then turned back by to his human form having they mom kiss him. Then again Hikaru is magitopian called Solgel so he is not human either. Then again so is not Urara's and her siblings father.

Super sentai is good

So here's a funny story: I was really into Power Rangers when I was in middle school, around 12 years old or so, and I especially liked SPD and Mystic Force. Back then I didn't know a thing about Sentai at all, I think I had a vague awareness that PR was based on something Japanese, but I'm not even sure I had that. So I was watching and enjoying Mystic Force without really thinking about what it might have been based on. I wasn't old enough to be incredibly discerning about writing, but while I liked Mystic Force a lot, there were a lot of things that bothered me. Like "why does all of the stuff to do with the Leanbow plot twists feel like they were meant to be a lot more dramatic than they actually are?" And of all the things I was bothered by, I think this one was absolutely the biggest one. Because, I mean, that's a big deal! Madison had to swallow her phobia and kiss a frog like it's the Frog Prince, but once it's over she just smiles it off like it's nothing and then she and Daggeron don't really talk to each other for the rest of the series. I knew Power Rangers could have weird or random plotlines, but this just felt like a whole elephant in the room. Needless to say, when I discovered Sentai and Magiranger existed some time later and learned about Urara and Hikaru, my first reaction was "well that explains a LOT!!" 🤣 It was like something just clicked. I'd say probably like 90% of the "this is really weird..." feelings I had ended up completely fitting together once I learned about their original Magiranger context, so I think it's funny how I somehow sensed portions of Magiranger's plot before I even knew Magiranger existed. For all it's worth, although I naturally ended up becoming an incredibly hardcore Magiranger lover after that, I do still like Mystic Force a lot. That being said, I think its better parts are actually its original content and not the parts where it was trying to adapt Magiranger plot points. A lot of Magiranger's plot points really depend on its themes of family love, and I don't think trying to replicate them without their original context did very good for it. I know they had footage constraints to work with, but it is kind of strange to me that they'd keep plot points like Urara needing to kiss the frog, since that was something they'd have to film new footage for anyway. (By the way, last year Sungel showeed up on the official Sentai Twitter commenting that Zenkaiger's Magiine would probably get along well with his wife. I'm happy to hear they're doing well 😊)

They gave Smokey a manly voice in Mystic Force

Hikaru is so much better than Daggeron! Especially when he launches Smoky into the stratosphere and then comes back down on cue for him. Badass Hikaru for the win! Not to mention he's hot. Frog turns into the handsome prince. Imagine how much character development they could have added for the blue ranger if they had followed the sentai in that aspect

You know it's really hurts when over 30s and you just figure out that PR is not original show even not adaptation...it's just version of Sentai show for America! And when you are writing in video "Sentai version" it is not correct because PR is version of Sentai series!

I know that Power Rangers are based on Super Sentai. Because of this I wish Power Rangers were NEVER aired nor dubbed in Japan. I'm starting to like Super Sentai more than Power Rangers.

I largely prefer the american version. The exposition in Magiranger and the comic part with Smokey breaks the whole tension of the scene and could simply have been moved after the fight.

Magiranger I'm ambivalent about. It's alright I suppose. Not particularly keen on Urara though. Mystic Force was my worst series at the time but then Operation Overdrive came out and it seems less bad now.

I'd like to see a video from Saban or the Power Rangers channel showing the editing process from Sentai to Power Rangers.
