I personally love the design, it blends an MMPR suit with a marvel esque superhero suit, while being functional activewear. As far as the dragon shield goes , I like it better without it . Printed dragon shields just do not look good to me . Also, you could easily convert this outfit into a green ranger suit as it is , by adding a cosplay dragon shield, belt , helmet , white shoes and gloves . So it’s also multi purpose! I’d get both now if I could afford it but for now I’m probably just going to get the pullover and try to add the pants later.
This makes me wonder how they’re gonna pull off the White Ranger track suit which is supposed to be dropping next year.. For those who don’t know that Suit has a different base design because it came from a different season of the Japanese show.. So they can get away with taking a few liberties with the Green Ranger because it has the same base design as the original five be use it’s from the same season.
I would’ve liked to see what the suit could’ve looked like with replacing the white chest and shoulder bits with gold instead. And I would like to see non-diamonds on the green ankles and forearms. I have been planning to get a green ranger ever since I heard about it and it still looks great. If a newer and better one later comes out I can sell it or just have two! Interested to see some of the other shifts and shorts and stuff!
Honestly it looks too much like power rangers for me to want to wear it out. I don’t like that they put the logo on it, and I would have preferred a much more subtle design, although I feel like that’s really hard to do with this property. It either looks like them or it doesn’t because of the diamonds.
I feel the exact same. I’m a PR fan but it’s like walking outside with a costume on. I like SuperSuits that look subtle, yet people can tell there’s something special about it.
Super valid. I would wear this to the gym where cheesy motivation is the standard. Or maybe to a movie marathon where people wear PJs. Definitely not a going-out outfit.
So I saw this a bit late tho I was on time with the new drop of yellow blue and pink with not being the biggest blue person I went with the yellow and I’m super excited to get them in hand. Ahead of time I know yellow is normally the girl in mmpr but these are mint to be uni and I’m super excited
Nice review, very helpful for power ranger fans to get a good look at the details. The diamonds are the way to go. I didn’t realize the green ranger had different boots/gloves, but the diamonds are so iconic to PR that I am with you, it looks more true to the IP even though not as accurate. And very smart decision on the gold chest. I’m glad they didn’t over design it throwing all that gold on there.
impressive for someone not big into PR to notice the diamond pattern on the joggers weren't accurate. honestly it's a deal breaker for me, oddly enough when i'm fine with the lack of the dragon shield design on the hoodie.
Yeah them not being duper accurate and the set costing 200$ is crazy. I buy just saiyan sets are like 120$ max and i swear by those. Ive had some for like 5 years and it is only now starting to fade.
@BGRecon its not a costume so it's not supposed to be 100% accurate. Just saiyan is great but 1) their clothes are basically costumes, if you're into that cool, but not everyone (myself included is) 2) their stuff is PRINTED. Superx clothes are different panels all STITCHED together to create this "armor" like look. Just saiyan jackets are all exactly the same except for the picture printed on the panels. Superx jackets are each a different cut and sew patterns. Each jacket is designed from the ground up. New designs + more panels= higher cost 3) just saiyan is only made from polyester and spandex. Superx uses cotton, polyester and spandex. The tri blend makes it more breathable and softer Hope that helps clear up any confusion!
The designs are fantastic and I’m super excited for this drop! I’m also not a childhood fan of Power Rangers, I didn’t grow up with it and I’m glad that there’s another SuperX person who’s not a big fan either 😂
This PR rollout was my introduction to Super X, placed my order 3 months ago the moment pre-order opened, they give you no update on where your purchase is outside of an automated response, and emails of where they're at in the building process.. the wait is absolutely ridiculous. NEVER again.
I will admit that the final result is pretty cool, but I think the big picture at most: I’d only rock the Black Ranger since it’s the most muted and easy on the eyes. I already felt like having the solid white blocking on these pieces makes it look too much of a cosplay/fandom piece and less of an homage/fitness set- though I understand why they did this for licensed pieces. I wanted to be able to wear this to the gym, and also elsewhere like it's a regular day-to-day set of athleisure, but the red and green ranger sets are a little too much for my liking. STILL on the fence about whether or not I’d actually wear this set to the gym, but maybe a Comic-Con or some other setting similarly themed. Same for the joggers; I feel like the design at the calves make it look like a school uniform with knee high socks. Had this release not been licensed, perhaps SuperX WOULD HAVE gone with a linear, minimal design on the calves- more so like how it looks on the thighs where the pockets are. This way, it can be worn mixed with other SuperX pieces or other regular clothes (i.e., green joggers with a DRAKE hoodie or something for more of a Robin look). I do find it interesting to make the hoodie a pullover, which allows for less assymetry that could’ve occurred with zip-ups. Overall, it’s a really cool step forward for SuperX, and I’m excited for the brand, but I’m probably gonna stick to the Black Ranger. A Ninja Storm set or SPD set would definitely be cool. Maybe Ninja Storm tank tops, or SPD jackets like the CASTLE? Sick.
Zip Ups are coming in a few months. And yeah this definitely is a louder design by default since the PR costumes themselves are very loud and corny looking. If You're a PR fan and want something more muted, later this year there will be mesh shorts and silk screen T shirts so you can rep them without having to be in a whole outfit 😆
It's just odd to me how Super X constantly talks about how custom these are made for each person but they don't ask for any measurements. Just a simple size is all we get so here's hoping mine fits... been waiting almost 4 months.
I like how you put it for the joggers, it still says power rangers for the joggers alone with the Diamond Shape in the calfs vs the original shark teeth design. I like the look of no shield on it and wouldn't mind seeing another version of it in the future. I don't think that paneling to incorporate the shield in the design would really impact the price but it did make the design too loud in my opinion when I saw the prototype designs on their Facebook group It may be designed for active wear but it still does have some cosplay look to it you can use if you really wanted to whixh is nice in my opinion. I look forward to getting my Ranger Super X Super Suit
I know everyone is asking sizing, but im a bit between a Large and XL. 6'2 220, stradle a large tall or xl tall depending on brands.. what do you think?
What I am wondering is what made you want to affiliate with them if there are so many issues when it comes to shipping time and them not taking responsibility for lost or non-items. I am very nervous about buying since I have heard more bad than good about them, just wondering your thoughts? Great honest review as well.
they've always done pre orders as their base business model so if you don't want to wait that long (which is totally understandable) simply don't buy. As far as as not taking responsibility for lost items I've never had that experience and I don't know what you mean by "non items"

I'm REALLY hoping for a v2 of the Green Ranger with some love given to the Dragon shield. I'd also like to see the triangles on the "boots and gloves" vs the diamonds. These are 2 factors that make the Green Ranger unique that are being ignored. I'm pretty disappointed tbh. My favorite ranger got did dirty imho.
In your opinion, if I normally wear an XL pullover because I like them a bit loose, would a 2X be a good call with this? I'm hoping so because I already bought it but this is my first SuperX. Haha.
100% would like to see a future design with the dragon shield color on the shoulders. I get what you're saying about bold but not loud, but IMHO expanding the white on the chest into the shoulders (which was not done even on the show) is way louder than the gold.
I see what you mean. I think that's more to make the wearers shoulders look broader. I would actually like to see a design with all the white on the chest and shoulders replaced with the Gold that you see on the forearms, instead of having white AND gold on the torso
I'd definitely like to see them give that a shot! I did a low effort MS Paint job just coloring in the white on one of the preview images and it looks pretty promising.
You say to go true to size but then it's slim fit. What if a person is not slim? like myself, shouldn't I go up a size? Some slim fit clothing I would have to go up a size, depending on how the clothing runs.
"True to Size" means stick to your normal size that you typically get. Like I mentioned in the video I have more a muscular build I don't wear slim fit in anything my arms and thighs won't fit it. So whatever size you get in NORMAL sized clothes is what I recommend you get in these. Also there's a lot of stretch in these it's a polyester/cotton/ spandex blend. Hope that helps!
Nothing official has been announced but the license is good for ALL power rangers properties so there's no reason why they wouldn't be open to in the future. I mentioned that in the very end of th video
Are you talking about this Power Rangers drop or another drop? The first PR suits went on sale September 21st. That was TEN weeks ago, not 13. Unless you somehow managed to buy 1 almost a month before everyone else, there's no way you've been waiting 13 weeks. Estimated shipping date is Late December. Always check the page that I sent a link to on their website, it will give you the estimated shipping times on pre orders. That way you can decide if you want to wait that long or not. The diamond design on the forearms and calves should’ve been Much smaller and more “muted” and the diamond design is wrong; it’s supposed to be a triangle design. The suit to me looks too much like a cosplay suit. Interesting concept, but I’d never wear this to the gym.

5'10, 185lbs with a muscular build. I literally say that word for word in the video. 😂 Go true to size. Whatever size hoodie you wear in other hoodies is what you should get here

I was a super fan of power rangers for many years. I think they could’ve done a better design of the green ranger suit. The forearm design is very off. It’s too obnoxious lookin as are the bottom of the joggers. It’s too “loud” lookin. It needed more gold in the design as well.
