I love what the marriage counselor said you get in the marriage with expectations that you carry from your childhood now the worse when that is not communicated between each other. I totally agree expectations that uncommunicated kill the relationships
I also don't want to lead in a relationship however due to the fact that I am alpha female I find it difficult to meet a man that can be able to lead me how I want/need to be led.
There is a level of toxic masculinity in our society and there are roles that have been set by God. Men are leader's. Being a leader may not mean you must have money, it just means that a man must lead. They (men) are the heads of our homes and assisted by their wives they create sustainable homes. It's not about who brings more money in and who should decide. It's a partnership and at the end of the day, Men are leaders of their homes. Ephesians 5:21-33 reflects perfectly the role of husband's, comparing it to Christ and the church. In short, just as Christ gave himself to the church, he sanctified it and cleansed it that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing: but that it should be holy and without blemish. This speaks to what sis Ayanda was saying. A man's beauty is seen in the way he takes care of his flock. God takes care of his church and men are required to take care of his home/flock. It is not a money thing. Just be responsible and be humble. Your wife is your help meet. It's a partnership.

Marriage is God's institution, He originated it. He saw it FITS in HIS plans. He saw that is NOT good for a MAN (Monna) to be alone and did something about it, created a WOMAN (mosadi). Man are born leaders, providers, protectors, heads of the house, priest and prophets through and through. Woman are entrusted to bring order in the house and train the children. The roles are swapped around today, now to confuse the original plan of God, to push man's out in pretence of promoting a woman. The war started long time ago when Adam and Eve introduced sin into the Garden of Eden. It's not starting now because of swapped roles. What's happening now is just an aggregation of what was already there. If you look at history, there has never been peace between man and woman in marriages, because a loving husband and a respectful wife(biblical marriage) together make up the Image of God. The world was built on patriarchal systems that only bullied and brought pain and suffering. We're now only beginning to understand what God Had in Mind for marriage through the Death and Resurrection of Christ. God Loves His sons and daughters, but Satan doesn't. However, with all the spiritual and generational trauma that has occured throughout all these years with how terribly women have been treated, Satan used that as opportunity to establish the movement of feminism, with the sole purpose of overturning the original marriage design of God. God is Love. He is Just. He's an amazing God. Marriage is a beautiful institution when done His Way. We need more Christian marriage counsellors/therapists with this spiritual understanding to help married couples today. Side note* Black people also need to start investing in their mental and emotional health. This thing of mental health not being taken seriously in black communities in our country is killing us🚮.
