When my boy was little. He's 20 now. 2 batteries in a serious. 50 Amp large fuses. Rubber/bicycle tires glued/screwed on. A pegro ttactor/ red craftsman. Custom hood. On patent it launched like a top fuel dragster. He was/still very brave. No fear. How it never flipped I'll never know. We had more then one. I had 2 kids that age. 15 months apart. We had our own racing. Drag and road course. I'd make whole tracks. Concrete drive wa into grass up hill at grass thru bb::::::%:1 x

I like that the Jeep is a more upright position. The Dune Racer seems way too reclined for a smaller child.

My granddaughter has 2 power toys and they are terribly slow, good that PaPa has multiple Ryobi batteries for his tools, I think I might surprise her by supercharging her toys!! what kind of run time are you getting out of the batteries? Thanks for the video!

Hi there! We’re going tonight to check out a used one just like your son’s for our little man. Since he thinks it may need a new battery anyway, and I have a few Ryobi batteries, hooking up one is simple. But, in the comments you mention running them in parallel. How is that done?

I have a pair of 4ah in parallel. 8ah results in 30-45m. When they run out I let the motors cool down for 5-10m and then throw a fresh set of batteries in. It’s the same batteries I use for all my tools so I have plenty to keep the kids entertained all day.

Have you or anyone had any problems with burning up the motors because they are not rated for increased voltage?

Some have, but only if you put it in a bind with rubber tires, heavy rider, climbing etc. Ours are still going strong.

Do you have a clip or picture of your parallel wiring? Does the main wire going to the controller seem to get hotter?

I don’t have a picture, but just combine the reds and blacks together from the adapters and connect to the car as usual. The cars wires don’t get hot - warm maybe.

I did this same mod last year, It works well, however sometimes the Ryobi battery overheats and you have to remove it and put it back in.

I’ve had no issue with the silver high performance batteries over heating, nor the craftsman 5ah’s - but I have since added a cooling fan to the motor/battery box to push air through it.
