Yeah the car was very linear and put the power down. It was just as fast on the street as it was at the track, which was incredible. My 33 needs drag radials ans suspension changes to hook, this just needed r888rs and it was good to go
Excited every time I see another upload of this beast.. putting the same blower on mine. Any more info on the oil pump gears/sprocket your brother used? Was not aware they are a weak point.
My brother used MMR gears and sprocket. He said to be careful as at sone point they changed the tooth pitch on the crank sprocket, but cant remember the year. But yeah, chat to mmr, they will sort you out
Same reason as the oil pump gears, stock gears are only a powdered metal gear. Higher rpm, peddling, touching limiter or a bad balancer can cause it to fail easier. The car had 100,000km on it when we put the blower on and we were in there already doing the oil pump gears for a couple extra dollars it's cheap insurance, would rather replace a $200 gear then spend 20-30k on a motor
