The apocalypse theme is a huge turn off for me, but I do really like the PbtA system. A couple of my favorite RGPs are PbtA: Masks and Fantasy World. Unfortunately, I didn't care for Dungeon World, though, because too many of the moves were combat-focused.
i haven't looked at fantasy world. i think dungeon world is a kinda bad implementation of the pbta system. Dungeon world is trying to emulate DnD and similar games and so it sorta drags all the design issues those games have into play while also not using the pbta system to do what it is good at. the Defy danger move in dungeon world is particularly problematic, completely uninteresting and pan-applicable I really love the game mastering/how to play advice in dungeon world, but in general i think most games that use this system do that well.
