Also called Victory Banner Red-Black Tara, she uses her irresistible and powerful magnetizing power to control all beings in all worlds - no Mara, demon, evil intention, greedy or worldly spirit or being can escape her power.
MANTRA
om tare tuttare ture sarva mara pramardhani svaha
ॐ तरे तुत्तरे तुरे सर्व मरा प्रमर्धनी स्वहा
PERMISSIONS: No permissions are generally required for any of the 21 Taras mantras of Lord Atisha, however, always be guided by your own teaching lineage. When you do not have Tara empowerment, you visualize Tara in front of you with her powerful blessing light going out to all beings including yourself, helping them, then returning to your own heart where Tara resides forever.
This is a supplication to Red Tara to crush and destroy (pramardhani) all maras, evils and enemies (“sarva mara”).
Meaning of Mantra by words including the sacred ten syllables of Tara:
OM , is homage to the Body Speech and Mind of Tara.
TARE, liberates and saves us from suffering in Samsara -- the suffering of this world and all six worlds.
TUTTARE liberates us from the 8 inner dangers, 8 external types of dangers and 8 supernatural dangers. These are symbolically stated as lions, elephants, and so on, but represent every danger. Each external danger is a class of dangers:
- "Lions" means any dangerous animal or predatory threat;
- "Elephants" means any angry being who threatens us
- "Fire" represents any natural threat from fires, heat, drought or war, even bodily "fever"
- "Snakes" represent any threat from poison, diseases, epidemics, or environmental threats such as pollution
- "Robbers" represent any threat from crime or criminals, or even broader economic factors that rob us of livelihood
- "Prisons" refer to anything that imprisons our freedoms, any chains such as the prejudice of others, corrupt officials, and so on.
- "Floods" refer to any danger from the watery elements, not only floods, but oceans, storms, waves, drowning or any danger from water.
- "Demons" refers to any supernatural threat outwardly (and the matching internal demons, psychosis, and so on.
As explained by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, these dangers mirror the "internal" poisons of pride (lions), delusion (elephants), hatred (fire), jealousy (snakes), wrong views (robbers), greed (prisons), desire (floods), attachment (demons), helping us to overcome them.
Thus, Tuttare liberates us from every outer and inner danger as well as supernatural, such as ill-intentions of others, curses, and evil magics.
TURE liberates us from disease.
SARVA means “all”
MARA “maras or demons or enemies, or evils”
PRAMARDHANI Crush and destroy them
SVAHA, is the root of the path, and means “be it so” or “well said.”

Thanks for the suggestion. We do plan to ultimately have all 21 Taras mantras in one video, but not until we finish the entire series. So far we have all of the White, Yellow, and one Black and one Red Tara published as individual videos (and streamable music) and as a growing playlist with all the mantras: ru-vid.com/group/PL8d71VyWOwkF-UFqw9h5-PZFo4Rr8kurq (We still have some black Tara mantra to record in studio. We're writing the music now. The Red Taras are all done, and you can hear them as audio streamed from your favorite music streamer. There are playlists (of audio only) on our Channel page. But we're still working our way through. Each video takes many, many hours. At the very end, when we have them all published, we likely will produce a video with all 21, but that will be a long video 😉 Hope that helps. In the meanwhile, that playlist will have all the lastest of the 21 Taras mantras. If you were looking instead for the 21 Taras Praise Dharani in Sanskrit, we do have three versions of this (our music is the same on each, but the visualizations are different, Surya Gupta, Nyingma and Atisha lineages). For example, the Nyingma lineage version is here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0XlYma5HW_Q.html Hope that helps. In kindness, BW 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

Can you tell in ur tradition which mala is used for kurukulla? Is it red sandalwood or red gemstone?
@BuddhaWeekly
@BuddhaWeekly 20 дней назад
Guru Rinpoche's advice: "A bodhi seed mala manifests limitless benefits for any form of practice, be it peaceful, expansive, powerful or wrathful... A red coral mala is best for accomplishing powerful sadhanas... A mala made from precious stones can be used to accomplish any of the karmic activities you are doing... A mala made from bodhi seeds accomplishes all dharmas..."' (The full teaching is in our video Buddhist Mala Guru Rinpoche's Complete Guide: "Mala should follow you like a shadow": ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eoKm5c3a10k.html&t. ) Some people (myself included) use a Bodhi seed mala for all activities (as the mala that follows like a shadow), rather than switching malas based on the focus of your practice -- unless you're undertaking a formal counting retreat. For a formal counting retreat we tend to have a counting mala kept in the place of our retreat (at our seat) for the duration of the retreat (separate from our "wearable" or daily mala) -- and this likely would be of a material recommended by your teacher, or Guru Rinpoche, depending on your lineage. For my last magnetizing-focused (expansive or power) counting retreat, I used Cherry Amber (a red amber) which I've had for many years (gifted). It's personal preference. More important is consecration and respect of a mala as a sacred Dharma object. In kindness, Lee 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

Om tare tam soha is another different mantra of red tara maa??plz explain 🙏
@BuddhaWeekly
@BuddhaWeekly 16 дней назад
Yes, there are eight red Taras in the 21 Taras, PLUS principle Red Tara, each with a supplication mantra. What this means is that in addition to Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha there are additional Sanksrit supplications asking for specific requests (relating to magnetizing.) Most famous of the Red Taras are Heroic Red Tara (number 1), Kurukulla (Tara 5). The mantra you refer to is called the "Heart Mantra of Red Tara". and in Sanskrit is Om Tare Tam Svaha. (In Tibetan this is Om Tare Tam Soha) TAM (Tam) is the seed syllable of Tara, so all Taras have the Tam. In the case of red Tara the Tam is visualized as Red. Om Tare Tam Svaha is associated with a specific lineage teaching, so you see it a fair bit on RU-vid., etc. and it certainly is Red Tara's mantra, but it's sort of "condensed" praise mantra. Praising Tare and Tam. In this mantra (and the one to come tomorrow, which is the 5th Red Tara) the rest of mantra is different, due to those additional requests at the end. All Taras are still Tara, but each visualization and mantra focuses on a different supplication (for instance, Red Tara 10 subdues Maras and worldly beings. Tare 5 is the Enchants All Beings: 7 Worlds Under Her Power (which is Kurukulla ... who by the way has another few mantras as well, depending on lineage). We have all eight of the Red Tara Mantras (from the 21 Taras) explained in the video with Longchempa's teaching on Supplication Mantras here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GSTZHJ_hjZY.html&t These are: 1 Swift Lady of Glory (Red Tara) om tare tuttare ture vasham kuru svaha 5. Tara Who Proclaims the Sound of Hum (Red Tara Kurukulla) om tare tuttare ture shtri akarshaya hrih svaha 6. Tara Who Is Completely Victorious Over the Three Worlds (Red Black) om tare tutare ture shatrun ucchataya svaha 8. Tara Who Conquers Maras and Enemies (Red Black Tara) om tare tuttare ture sarva mara shatrun maraya phat svaha 10. Tara Who Brings Maras and the World Under Her Power (Red Tara) om tare tuttare sarva mara pramardhani svaha 13. Tara Who Blazes Like Fire or Tara Who Averts War and Destroys Enemies (Red Tara) om tare tuttare ture bhaya bhasmim kuru svaha 17. Tara Who Causes the Three Realms to Tremble (Red Yellow Gold) om tare tuttare ture sarva stambhani tare svaha 20. Tara Who Removes Pestilence (Red Tara) om tare tuttare ture visarata svaha To which you might add Principle Red Tara: Om Tare Tam Svaha They are ALL red Tara, we just supplicate different activities (although all the red Taras are controlling, enchanting and magnetizing. Hope that helps.

"pramardhani" is wrong, "Pramardini" is right. "प्रमर्दन" - destroy.
@BuddhaWeekly
@BuddhaWeekly 20 дней назад
Thank you for commenting. This phrase may vary based on your teaching lineage, and from a quick search of my Sanskrit dictionary, both are correct as adjectives. However, as transmitted by Lama Zopa Rinpoche it is: "OM TARE TUTTARE SARVA MARA PRAMARDHANI SVAHA" Rinpoche, Lama Zopa. The Power of Mantra: Vital Practices for Transformation (Wisdom Culture Series) (p. 71). Wisdom Publications. It is important to chant the mantras as transmitted by your teacher, so if your teacher has transmitted pramardini, then that is right for you. Most lineages are transmitted OM TARE TUTTARE SARVA MARA PRAMARDHANI SVAHA From a linguistic point of view, there are different forms of the same phrase (pramardana and pramardin are both destroying) per www.learnsanskrit.cc/translate?search=pramardana&dir=se Noun and adjective forms: प्रमर्दन n. pramardana destroying प्रमर्दन n. pramardana crushing प्रमर्दन adj. pramardana crushingdown प्रमर्दन adj. pramardana From the same online dictionary pramardini is the adjective form of the same, so both be correct:appear toप्रमर्दिन् adj. pramardin destroying प्रमर्दिन् adj. pramardin Lama Zopa, as a highly Enlightened Guru remains the best source for this, unless your specific teacher has transmitted to you differently. (Either form would appear to be correct however.) Hope that helps. In kindness, BW.
