In all fairness, even the Golden Rule (although it's a good place to start) has its limitations. When I do something for someone else because that's what I would want him or her to do for me, I'm actually making a somewhat arrogant and egocentric assumption that this person will and should feel the same way I do and want the same things I want when this isn't necessarily true. The rule really ought to be not "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" but "do unto others as THEY would have YOU do unto THEM" -- because if you give them what you need and not what they need, you aren't really fully acknowledging their right to have different preferences from you that you might not understand even though your intentions were good.

Ya rules/ laws of Karma I don' t agree with some of these; 1) waiting for a person, you can only wait so long, you have to live your life! 2) Career and goals are more important yes while that is important some ppl who just value money it' s sad and being career focused only can cause issues...big issues in a relationship! 3) Someone who truly loves you will never leave....false! A person can only put up with so much sometimes before they wash their hands of the other person, let' s be really love isn' t always enough and there are ppl that have had to leave another because they were just too toxic!
