Powerhouse Pilates
The term "Powerhouse" was created by Joseph Pilates, who started the Pilates movement.
Powerhouse is the center of the body which, when strengthened, creates the foundation for all movement. (think - your core)
Most people hear the word "core", and they immediately associate their core only with abdominal muscles, but your core consists of many more muscles.
The powerhouse area of your body goes from the bottom of your ribs to your hip line, and mid-thigh. It includes the abdominal muscles, low back muscles, pelvic floor, muscles around the hips, and the glutes (butt muscles).
This 30-minute in home workout is intense, but won't leave you sweaty. All you need is a Yoga mat or a towel, no equipment required for this full body workout.
Aviva Abrams owner of AVIVA PILATES studio in Miami Design District leads this workout, and you're going to love it.
She focuses on small movements that target muscles that we don't always get to that will help to improve posture, and you're physique.
By the end of this workout, you will be feeling more flexible, more muscular, toned and balanced from head to toe.
Be sure to listen to your body and move in a way that feels good and does not cause pain. Please remember to make any modifications for your body to be safe and feel good.
