@@himentor4184 As is 99.9% of RU-vid channels. These are down home people with a Wonderful family. If you don't like them why are you here. Are you here just to talk down to people to make yourself feel good.
I'm voting for the full wiring video. Just break it out in a separate video, so the less than enthusiastic solar folks can skip it. I plan on taking my house full solar/battery with a grid tie. I've heard it referred to as an island grid tie. I want the system to act independently, and sell excess and use the power company when needed on cloudy days.
I know a couple that have known each other since high school. They lived together for 24 years and finally got married. Amazingly, after the wedding, they are still best friends.
Thanks so much for the kind words about my Skillshare class, Erin! Glad that what I shared in that class has helped you... - Mike Vardy aka "The Productivityist"
One thing I've constantly noticed about the men I admire most is that they've all got a wife who always helps to keep them on track. What I'm saying is that I love you guys - a great team!
I hit the refresh button every day looking for your new posts. I watch your videos and at the end feel an emptiness as I want more. Your videos are so enjoyable. The outros are heart-warming and provide a sense of warmth that's hard to find these days. Erin, I love your values. Please keep going. As many people have commented, you're one of the best on RU-vid.
I hope you do show interconnecting it all and updating the array. Love watching it all. I think that, Josh, you need 2 channel locks with that large a battery bank.
Thank you for another great video. Great to see the solar expansion going in. It was good to see Josh using wrenches. Please be careful with the heavy lifting. I see that Chucky did another outstanding job of supervising. Great to see the children sharing in doing the farm chores. Stay safe, warm, and well.
I had to add that it sure helps to have an Electrician in the house!! "YAY *Josh* YAY" --- Also your photography skills don't like an amateur is making these beautiful vlogs, editing!! Looks like a professional doing all this beautiful footage!! "YAY *Erin* YAY" =8^)
An in-depth look at your solar system would be interesting. I've watched your earlier solar build sequence and found it very enlightening :D . I _believe_ the Simpliphi batteries can be safely set-up on their sides, why didn't you do that to make the terminals and switches easier to access?
A bit deeper explanation would be interesting. Maybe a drawing of a principle diagram to explain the components visible to us and how they connect/relate? And, jolly fine video again. Nice.
Please do share more detail about hooking up the larger solar system and now using 3 units in having more power. I'm a detailed person who appreciates the info. Great video and you work so well together with wife!
Already saw a whole lotta sockets and wrenches. Keep the channel locks on standby. That system is awesome. We live off grid in our motorhome we get it!!! Solar ROCKS 👍👍☀️☀️
Probably the thing I like most about this channel is you guys always take the time to explain your process and the reasons for it for your non-builder viewers. Your description of the effects of Solar on your lives is the best I've ever heard. Thank you for sharing that! (a morning hoodie, Josh?..really?..lol)
Ya'll need to start a WORK OUT CHANNEL with all that heavy lifting of those heavy ass batteries. Besides Josh would be so cute in TIGHTS and a flannel shirt right Erin. You guys amaze me with the skills and knowledge you have learned over the course of this build. Your energy and drive and love of family are inspiring. May God continue to bless your amazing family.
i knew i would see a spring nut.. Obviously Union, this is why you have so much time to work on your house and editing. Editing is AWESOME by the way. Beautiful over done shelf. i need Chuck at least twice in one video. Love ya, peace
I may have missed it, but what happened to the "90 days to enclose the bottom of the house" insurance deadline? I didn't think I saw that project completed...
It's my birthday and my wish was to find a new video post from you when I woke up and here it is, I always enjoy your videos and this one as well, great amount of work and humor thrown in. Thank you.
OMG...did you just snort when laughing? HOW funny!! You guys bring so much honestly to real life ..... "your heart hasn't slowed down since you met him"...LOL LOVE you guys.
Much love to you guys. Love the chemistry between you two and of course Bernie and the Bull. Miss seeing the kids in this one but there will be many other chances for them to take part in the videos. Especially the little princess!
You can really see how passionate Josh is with his electrician jazz. And Erin too, obviously with the quality of the videos. And her writing is always extraordinary.
Josh you did a good job building the shelf and it supported your weight today, but as the 2x4's dry out over the years the screw threads could pull out. (I'm speaking from previous accidents I have seen happen). PLEASE consider adding another unistrut to the ceiling joists and using threaded rod to join the front unistrut of the shelf to the ceiling unistrut at every angle bracket. It would relieve the load on the screws in the wall. Another option would be to install unistrut support posts with a foot on each side of the shelf. Be safe and I enjoy your channel and family.
I really love seeing the love between you two as you carry on with your task. If more people in this world were like you it would be a much better place. I am glad Josh is doing the wiring, if it were me I would probably blow the whole system up. LOL. Great job.
Why would you not leave the HEAVY BATTERIES on the floor and move the electrical components closer to the ceiling and if necessary use a stool for occasional access ?
@@Mark_Dee 10 years? Those batteries are rated for 10,000 cycles. You'll get closer to 30 years on average. At which time they can pay someone to replace them, because Josh's back will be gone. 🤣
Channel locks are super handy. My husband who is also an electrician uses them for everything. The electrician hammer as we call them. Would also be interested in all the wiring of the solar
That monologue was amazing. If you journaled this whole experience you could probably publish it and narrate the audio version. This was one of the best episodes I’ve seen thus far, and definitely one of the best on RU-vid for pure quality. You two are just amazing and so refreshing.
I cant say enough About how nice it is to watch you guys grow in what your doing its really Nice to see you 2 and Arin i got the Joke about Josh weight and the twins lol and it was cute to see Josh response to you handing him those nuts lol Keep safe i am thrilled watch you all and ill say this again your little girl is simply adorable and how she has grown and learned so much. well stay safe and keep moving forward . I know I am just one of your Many subscribers but i really thankful when you are able to Comment back to me i know you cant always do that so thank you when you do.many many blessing to all 5 of you
You must not live in the country, my friend. In rural areas most everyone has two or three cases of TP and reserves of most consumables, we don’t want to drive one or two hours each way to pick up just a couple of rolls constantly.
I'm not an electrician, but I use my channel locks for everything too. lol An in debth video (including lil Debbie snack breaks) would be awesome, your work is killer Josh! Awesome family...🥰
Great philosophy about being off grid causing you to be more in touch with Mother Earth, the seasons and your livestock. I am an old man now, but wish that I would have had the opportunity to experience life the way that you are .
I thought that running three heat pumps on that setup was a little ambitious in the fall and winter months. Did you actually have to run the generator at all yet?
Hi, I for one would love to see a more in depth video on the solar set up. I remember the first one you did where you broke down the costs of the setup and compared it to the cost of running power from a pole to your property. It was really useful to see this. The technical stuff took me a while to get my head around but it was worth it 👍👍.
When I first subscribed I was alittle erie about watching. Once I did I enjoyed every video since. Not only that the music used is enjoyable too. Oh an Ellie reminds me of my 6 year old niece at her age.
Hey, a good tradesmen can fix the worlds most complicated engineering mistakes ever concieved with a pair of channel locks, duck tape and bailing twine.
Love your vlog. Glad Josh got to keep his Channel Locks! Though he should get credit for using sockets in this post! My wife and I built an “A” frame in Arkansas you definitely have to know your angles to build an “A” frame you are doing a great job .
