another great informative video Ground Control 204, i purchased a RM KL703 after watching that video, great amp i am wavin a hand from IRELAND cheers brother 73's
Okay bro, you got me thinking. I have a 30 amp variable power supply for my Stryker 955 v2. Should I be setting the volts up from 13.8 to 14.5? Should I set the Radio to 14.5 as well? Thanks, Frank
I like to keep a desired 14 or 14.5 volts when I dead key, this is why I set mine close to 15 volts during idle time. Usually, setting these radios at 13.8 volts at idle, you will see 13.2 or 13.5 during dead key. Inefficiency for Strykers start at 10 volts, and anything under that is truly starving the mosfets and other components. I even run my amps at 15 volts to compensate any voltage draw down.
Well, there are plenty of ways to cook the FETs. These radios like all mobiles are designed to be installed in vehicles, which some vehicles can vary voltages from 12 volts all the way to 16 volts. Now with that being said, inefficiency begins on the upper threshold of 20-25 volts. Beyond that will be component failure for sure, which we call “over volting.” 73👋🏻
I have one of these too, I do believe you can buy them with a switch on / off yes your right good quality for the price, hope all is well my brother...
Oh yeah, it would supply all the amps that two pill would need and still have head room. www.ebay.com/itm/393975876207?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Dg58PmLBSL6&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=yjbo8mqdtp6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Use a light tester it will drain the power off basically any light bulb will drain the power off when the light shuts off the power drain out of the capacitors 🛠️💯🍻👌✌️😉
@@bigdog911PAradio things happen brother, brand new or not. Might even be just a simple electronic component that slipped passed inspection before it hit the shelf. 73👋🏻
