The 7.3L is far more reliable but even that duramax in stock form would’ve blown your doors off. My 2003 LB7 2500HD duramax truck would’ve kept up with him but he most likely would’ve edged me out.

@@powerstrokecentral, 7.3L are all slow. You can make them a lot faster but it costs a ton of money to do. If you spend the same amount of money on a duramax or cummins you’d have twice the horsepower as the hopped up 7.3L for the same cost to hop up the 7.3L.

@@connor4961, then it hasn’t been properly maintained. The 7.3L is one of the most reliable engines ever built if you take care of it but that can be said about a lot of engines.

@@JLCmike4014 I’m going to be honest. Everyone says those engines are super reliable but they pretty much had all the issues of the 6.0 minus head gaskets and EGR coolers.

Bro Ford discontinued 7.3 in 2002. This is a 2019 duramax that has EVERYTHING done to it. How can you call that fair?

7.3 was still available in the E-series in 2003. And it wasn’t Ford that discontinued it as it was international that did when they switched to 6.0. And as we all know Ford eventually just started building their own after that.

i know you guys arent deserving of a diesel truck. you wanna ride em like hot rods and tune em to go to 60 in 3 seconds. and if you are seeing black smoke then its clear that the maturity is at an all time low. you wont get any of the intended reliability out of these trucks, running them like shit

This I believe to not. Be a fair fight you've got a 4-5 year old newer truck vs a 19 year old truck the duramax has way newer technology vs a 23 year old truck with tech from the late 90s early 2000s this I'm sure 100% is not a fair fight. Now if you had a 2019 vs a 2019 I'm sure it would be fair.

Maybe not. Built L5P are monsters. Obviously a more modified truck will be faster. Modification to modification. Would be a good race. A stock Internals L5P can handle more horsepower though.
