I have become a big fan of Powertac flashlights, they are super solid and from what I’ve seen built like a tank. I do not own this model due to the fact that it seems like more of a flood like beam, I have the E5R-g4 which has more of a condensed hotspot along with lots of spill which is more to my liking. I liked this light so much I ended up buying a second one. It’s all about what type of light beam pattern fits your needs, if flood is your thing the E9R-4 would be the ticket. Which ever model you choose, rest assured you will have a quality light in you hand.

Reall like this, but it seems a tad large for EDC (I’m not law enforcement, just looking for a sturdy light). Anyone carry these daily? How do you carrry?
I carry this daily---I choose it for the ability that you can set it on strobe and it stays on strobe wether momentarily or long term---doesnt revert back to the other modes after waiting a while like others----it will do this ui in the other modes as well----I BELIEVE IN STROBE FOR SELF DEFENSE and have gone through about 15 lights before this one----the Klarus are great but the dual rear paddle allways activate accidentaly---with this one the button is protected......I did have to tape the front bezel though as it will tear your pocket---also THIS THING GETS HOT!!!!!! so its only short duration for the high modes----I also have 2 of the M5---same UI but lower lumen--think 1500 but it is a bit shorter in length
Great video as always. This light compares to Olight's Seeker or Warrior series. I did have one scary thought as I was watching you do the demo. So your at the pond in the middle of the night in pitch blackness ....and your light somehow fails! Oh but I know you had a backup,,,probably an Olight?
I mean, you could, it is aluminum, you will be removing the hard anodized finish which protects the aluminum and contributes to hardness, the raw metal underneath is much softer without it. You won't gain much as a weapon. It might also look a little freaky to a jury that you went and did that. Spend a month at a martial arts class of your choice instead.
I have had their E5 for a few years now. It’s a decent light I just don’t like how it makes a slight ringing noise when you go to the turbo mode. I’m sure their newer models and generations have addressed that issue by now

@@xpisti_militum Hi! I’m a law enforcement officer and just purchased this light. Can you verify that there is no drop down in lumens on turbo? It runs for 2 hours straight on turbo without dropping any lumens at all?
Turbo does not drop any lumens. In fact, Turbo is devastating and will run for a long time. Strobe mode is “only” 790 lumens, but it’s quite disorienting and seems bright enough for most situations
