Outstanding video! thanks for posting. I am really glad I watched this. I came very close to ordering this from Amazon this morning (about $15)...but the mounting issues are off putting. Lots of similar switches with integrated boxes with standard mounting holes (or DIN rail)...think I'm going to go back and re-evaluate.

Typical Chinese no instructions. Thank you for your video. Good tip on the addition of terminals. I had mine wired incorectly. Fortunately, nothing catastrophic happened when I turned it on. Gold and silver terminals would have helped.

That's helpful - thank you. One thing: It would have been more helpful to see the actual steps with the ground wires. I'm looking at videos like this precisely because I don't know these things.

All grounds tie together and need to also be bonded to the enclosure if it is metal.

So where does the ground go? Also, how would I connect an indicator light to go on when I push the on button?

it appears that the 240v hook up is exactly the same or is there a wrinkle?

It is the same. Only difference is you are now breaking L1 and L2 rather than L1 and N.

My 80,s Powermatic 66,with 2 hp and 240 volts and single phase .The magnetic switch has quit working, when i push the start button, nothing happens. no clicking, no nothing. Would a 71008 replace the magnetic starter

Borderline, yes. However a magnetic starter is better and safer.

any suggestions for a magnetic starter. Thanks@@rogersshop

If it were mine, it would be Square D, Allen Bradley, or Siemens. But, that's me, as a professional electrician and vast experience with motor controls. there are less costly starters out there, but as they say, you get what you pay for!@@floundermac

Can you make a video on the wiring requirements for 220v?
@christophersmith9275
@christophersmith9275 6 месяцев назад
220 will have 2 hots and a ground. Each hot goes to a single terminal on the switch like he shows with black and white wire. If you have 4 wire cable, cap off the neutral and leave it disconnected in the box

A lot of variables here, depending on how the saw was configured from the factory. 120V or 240V? Most of these saws have a magnetic starter with overload protection that should NOT be bypassed. These are usually controlled by momentary contact start and stop buttons. This prevents the saw from self-starting after a power outage if it was running when power went out. The Kedu HY56 switch comes in two different configurations: 220V and 380V. Both are not magnetic or momentary contact switches and are maintained contact, which eliminates the safety aspect of why Delta uses magnetic starters and momentary contact buttons.
