PPF Coating vs Ceramic Coating - Know the Practical Truth! MG Astor 2022 

I recently bought an Astor and your videos are the most useful and very honest. After watching many videos of yours I feel like we are friends for a while and you are sharing all the information like you would do with your best friend. This video has been very helpful because I have been contemplating whether to get these two or not. Now it is very clear to me it is not that much ROI on Astor. Good to know that whole new coat of paint can be done in 25K. Thanks again and keep up the great work.

Aapke saath full agreed hain. Sahi se explain kiya hai😄. Hamne bhi consider kia tha Astor ke liye ki PPF ya fir Ceramic lagwaana chahiye ya nahi. To hamne Service Center walon se baat ki. Unhone kaha ki car pe PPF lagana worth it nahi hoga kyuki wo peela pad jaega aur peeling issues aa saktein hai. Aur jab hamne Ceramic coating ka MG Service Center pucha to unhone kaha ki car pe aap Ceramic coating 1.5-2 saal baad karwaiye. Unka kehna tha ki car abhi brand new car pe needed nahi hoga kyuki kuch saalon tak orignal paint ki shine barkarar rehti hai. This also shows ki MG ke service walon ne customer ke baare me socha instead of money and hame abhi ceramic coating karane ke liye nahi bola.

Great video, just one thing to add on here for Ceramic coating it is recommended that you should use only good quality microfiber cloth to retain the coating for longer period. Saying that it will increase the maintenance cost and makes it an added headache too. We would need a specific type of carwash too

Nice explanation dear. I was pitched for PPF but I feel now it is not required.

In my opinion both are not recommended..it's better to keep vehicle as it is...just try to use best quality car shampoo and polish..I recommend to wash thoroughly with water stream before applying shampoo..use fiber cloth for washing and drying. Only wash in one direction up-down or left to right...don't clean in circles...happy and safe driving

Thanks so much buddy for sharing your idea. Friends and family have been recommending me for the same, however even I am of the opinion that unless it's cheap, it's not worth it, since even if I get chipping cost of replacing the paint or part would be less than the overall cost. And for the time that these ceramic/ppf stays, it isn't worth it!

Hey that was an useful share Prakash! Was really going bonkers as to which one to choose. What I’ve derived at the end of the video is that it’s best to leave the car as is and regular maintenance with good cleaning cloth and other basic add ons is good enough. And also, is it possible to have something like a sub title put when you mention cost, timeline and important pointers that you know better in English? People like me who don’t understand hindi that well find it hard to follow. Thanks once again!

I have two cars (Ritz, Figo) which are more than 11 years old and they just shine like new with usual daily cleaning with wet cloth (not even microfibre). It is more important to park your car in shade and drive responsibly than these new gimmicks. I’m sure the technology of paints and their quality would’ve improved by now. Lastly, your car is a utility, every utility ages so what’s the big deal with minor wear and tear, itna dimag lagaoge to gaadi kaise chalaoge.

I purchased Tata Altroz in Dark Grey a few months ago. There is a problem with dust and bird droppings in my parking space, and I have to completely wash my car every 15 days. So I'd like to know if Ceramic Coating is a viable option for protecting new car paint, or if you have any other suggestions.

I am with the same thoughts that i can get the scratches removed at a very nominal cost compared to the cost of coatings

Hi prakash, I live in a cement factory colony, lot of cement dust settles on car. At some point of time windshield will be blur and can't get rid of that permanently. Will this Ceramic or ppf coating will protect?

Hi I am a subscriber of your channel and follow all your videos. I have ordered for Astor Sharp manual variant. MG's website shows paint protection film charges for Astor as just Rs 5685. I am skeptical as this charge is way lower than the market price for PPF right? Are you aware of this? If yes, is it worth opting for this PPF from MG itself directly instead of the ceramic coating option which they are offering? They are charging 36k for 9 layer ceramic coating. Please advise.

Hi Bro, I have a question. Did you pay any handling charges to the dealer when u purchased your car? My dealer is saying it’s mandatory to pay . Another query is I have booked astor super mt variant . Is Astor really a good product ? How will be its future in india as it is owned by China govt Saic motors . MG uk brand hai sunkar acha lagta hai lekin ye Chinese motor company own karna aur india main iska product tik pana doubt lag raha hai..isme to bhar bhar ke feature de dia but chali to Chand tak na chali to sham tak jaisi baat ho gai to ho jayega satyaanaas..

Better do a Carnauba Wax after a car wash during every 3 months. You can DIY. But, always purchase a genuine Carnauba Wax from a reputed brand. Its old-school but in the long run its far better for your car. Pro-tip, please follow the right procedure or you won't get the right results ✌️ And, its important to ask yourself what would you do if you'd have to respray on top of these ceramic coating if something unfortunate happened, its not worth it. The PPF also once damaged must need replacement of the entire panel/section which during removal will surely damage the paint.

Finally happy with my decision of not getting ppf for my black Astor
