Absolutely agree with almost all your observations . I would also like to add that Map my India is nowhere as good as Google maps... having lots of issues with that .. including routes and ETA displayed. Another problem I keep noticing on and off is the time lag for the reverse cameras to get displayed. Another issue I face is that I still haven't been able to connect Android Auto ( MG has agreed to replace some parts for that ) ...the screen begins to flicker ! But on the whole I am extremely satisfied with the car. I did a Cochin- Bangalore- Cochin trip ( about 1200 kms)) and a Cochin- Chennai- Cochin trip ( about 1500 kms) . I loved every minute of the drive though I am not happy with the mileage I got ( just about 10.5 - 11 kms)

Frankly speaking i am so used to good maps (as everything is saved that i never tried to use mapmy india There must be some software issue which must be creating that trouble in the camera Honestly 10-11 for 1200kms drive is less! I expect it to be 15 minimum

I agree with all your comments described so positively that they don’t appear to be big issues. Your command of language and tone quality is excellent. I am also quite satisfied with this car now driving since January. Recently went on a hill drive of 300 km and some bad roads and faced no issues at all. I got an average of 9 kmpl which is reasonable considering the road conditions.

Another issue i face is map my India often shows wrong distance and time. Sometimes even wrong direction. So mapmyIndia needs to be better. I agree with you regarding SIM. We should be given option to either port it to other service providers.

One more issue, if your mobile is paired with Astor. Suppose you are on call and you start your astor. Your call will automatically get connected through Astor speakers. If you have your car AC switched off, you cannot switch on it until and unless you hang up your call.

hey prakash you can turn off the wrong automatic guidance as u mentioned like ' speed breaker ahead', left turn ahead etc.....by going into the navigation that is the main screen. click on the speaker icon....it will turn off the guidance

I heard a similar issue that bonnet was getting too hot! After a proper inspection it was concluded that there is no issue in the vehicle or the engine! So you need to worry!

Good one , I am also observing noise from sunroof on bad roads and also roof rail seems to have some loose parts ... Not sure they are related . I am planning to get these fixed during my next service visit . In your case whether both the cases are fixed permanently? .

Yes both the cases have been permanently closed! Once the repair was done the issue never came back! So i am happy that MG Lucknow did deal the issue properly!

As u rightly mentioned that the music system/Speakers are not at par.. can v install extra speakers in the Astor from any of the car accessories showroom.. is it recommended to improve the sound quality.

Unfortunately there is no option of getting an updated speakers system at the showroom you will have to get the same done as an after market accessories but make sure that no wire is cut while getting any kind of speaker installed.

Hi Praveen, thank you for your video and input and most importantly your feel on this car, i have booked this Savvy 1.3 turbo AT S red, just wanted to check if the panoramic sunroof got leakage problem during monsoon, heard some facing this issue and also there is a slight delay in pick up. And also display screen clarity is not good. Could you please tell me your experience on this

Paranomic sunroof if kept generally clean won't give you trouble! Your choice is excellent and you wont regret buying this car! Delay in pick-up will always be there as it's an automatic engine ! We can't compare with manual! The display screen is great! Just that the camera is not awesome!

And also should be well integrated with astor . Any suggestions regarding this ? If I want to upgrade astor savvy 360 camera , which camera I should go for better quality . I enquired in few after market accessories shop . They said that you have to change the infotainment to make their 360 cam work . If I change the infotainment , how will I access adas features and connected car features

I have a Manual transmission Mg Astor Super variant. City mileage in bangalore is around 9Km/L and highway mileage is around 11.5Km/L. A little disappointed with the mileage. Drove around 1000 Kms in the western ghats, not very peppy or exciting to drive in the ghat section...but very good on the highways....overall a great family car...I would say. Better internal storage and pickup would have made this a better or perfect choice. Build quality and overall performance makes it a good choice as a family car...I am happy with my choice...

I am in Delhi and too have a manual transmission it is giving me also an Average of 8 kms only.. While on good stretches it increases to 11 to 12. So overall it comes to about 9 only.

Hi.. I own CVT and getting 10-12 milege in city, 13-14 on highway - so far. The major issue for me is AI. You can not have a conversation without being interrupted by Astor. AI bot has to say something stupid without giving any command - MG still struggling to resolve this issue. Rest I am completely happy with the vehicle.

One more query is regarding the pickup drop charges(for servicing) which the showroom charges around 550/- which was a bit unusual.. is this the practice in all cities?

In Lucknow there is no charge of pick up and drop and as a matter of fact I have three other brands of vehicle and I have used pickup and drop facilities a lot of times for getting my car service and not even a single time I have paid a single penny for the said service.

@prakashParadise: I recently bought Astor Savvy CVT. And here is a misguidance story from the MG Lucknow TP Nagar Salesperson: I called the sales person that I wanted to book a test drive for Savvy CVT 1.5L & Savvy Turbo 1.3L. After having test drive of both back to back, I decided to book CVT Savvy since don't feel much of a difference noticeable between both. After getting the Car delivery of Astor CVT Savvy, I noticed that the car is not running the same way and it it then I realised that this MG Salesperson had brought both Savvy Turbo for test drive and wrongly told me that one is CVT and other is turbo even though at that time I asked him basic questions like why both the test drive cars are having same Diamond cut allow wheels / black orvm (not body coloured) etc. He conveniently lied to my questions and told that in Savvy varient the exterior is exactly the same (there is only Engine difference). I have watched some youtube videos before which tells otherwise but since MG salesperson was talking hence I thought there must be some recent changes done. Now I have the car and I am feeling bad about being cheated 😒. Can I now do anything about it? From which Lucknow MG showroom you have bought the car? And which showroom do you think is good to get the car serviced?

Hi Prakash another good video 👍 Couple of points on which i need your inputs. 1) Regarding the false alarms u mentioned is it happening due to the ADAS features?? and overall do you find ADAS features helpful or worth it considering the fact that you need to pay around 80k extra 2) couple of people have reported battery issues does the battery discharge if u r not using car for 15-20 days ?

Thanks for appreciation again! 1) False alarm is due to the inbuilt map function which can be turned off but the issue is-on restarting the vehicle is turns itself on again! (MG needs to fix this in update) It's not because of ADAS! ADAS has a feature of Emergency braking system! Which can't be given a monetary value! If it works even for one time! (You can imagine what precious thing it has saved) - Family Wife Children - anyone can be on board Other features are good on highways ! Overall they are nice and truly speaking when i drove a car without adas on a highway then i realised the importance! It really assists in Driving! 2) i had earlier kept my car for 35 days as i was out of the city! There was no problem in the battery whatsoever! The battery issue maybe because of some electric part eating energy even when not required! Can be easily fixed by ECU update and check! I don't think it's a deal breaker problem! Hope this reply helps

Thanks for the quick reply. You also mentioned about network issues with the Jio Sim which is quite unfortunate. As a workaround we can use maps, music via Android auto, apple car play also right ?? Using maps this way will also take care of those false Alarms right ??

Yes there is a network issue problem even after updates! Even i use Android auto in the car But that doesn't stop those alarm from popping out! However it's not too much now! Not that on every road it's happening! Only on some routes!

A bit out of context question but would love to know u r opinion 🙂 Have booked Astor but i also like the design of harrier and considering the price difference between both is only couple of lakhs i am quite tempted to go for it. The only concern i have is with the Size and diesel engine. Will take a TD soon anyways. 1) Have you driven harrier and how did you find it in comparison with Astor. 2)Did you consider harrier before finalising Astor

I am glad that i am able to help! No it's not an out of context questions - I did go to see the Harrier! The exterior of the car is amazing! What i didn't like About harrier was rear drum brakes! And then the sales guys couldn't even believe that i will buy that vehicle (maybe i was too young for them) so they didn't treat me properly! And i didn't like that! Also hector interior design was not nice to my eyes and the car was big I wanted something small I don't have that big parking

Overall, the Astor is a premium and entertaining vehicle. The AI technology and the after-sales service are extremely good. Amazing ADAS features like SAS, which helps the driver when overspeeding. The steering is smooth. I like the Astor in particular. 👍

Sir, I heard that 1) the water coming out when wipers are on hits the roof and not the windscreen. Is that true? 2) when the tank is full it shows incorrect reading of distance to empty and mileage

Let me tell you- 1) when we use the vipers the water is mainly removed from the screen in front of you. The viper does not check where the water should go it just cleans your glass. Earlier we were driving cars without sunroof so we never came to know where the water is going now since there is a glass about so we can see the water droplets on our head. it is completely normal. And we are driving at the speed of 80 and we use this water to clean our glass in front do we really care where the water is going? To all in all the answer is that it is completely normal and since it's all paranomic so we can see where the water is going. 2. The distance to empty shows the mileage according to the accumulated info. If the accumulated info is showing good mileage for example 16 15 then this time to empty will show at a higher range. When the accumulated info shows mileage as 10 or 9 then the distance to empty screen will show very low number of kilometres. It is only indicators and does not show the exact figure because it is impossible.

Yes that's with all the Astor Actually there is a logic behind it - this car is made for Australia and China , there children are not allowed to sit in front ! So MG expects us to keep our children on back seat for safety issues and then child lock the rear doors . That's the reason !

Hi Prakash ji..booked Astor super manual in oct 21with token amount..yet to get delivery still.....i see some comments about mileage...what mileage can i expect for Astor manual 1.5 variant..in a city like Manglr....in karnataka on road it costs 14 lakh....should i continue with booking or look for other car...am not much interested in seltos/creta as its very common on roads now..

Bro the 220 AT is one of those cars whose owners are maximum happy! The only issue some people have is that it gives low mileage in city! What I personally feel is that a mileage should only be checked tank to tank and when you are checking the mileage the car should be entertained with all type of driving not only just City driving. In purely City driving conditions I have seen all the cars giving low mileage. Not talking about the questions you have mentioned 1) I am 183 cm and I don't feel any kind of this comfort while driving the MG ASTOR Why I do agree that the overall size of the seats in the rear are smaller but that does not mean it is a utterly dis comfortable 2 the pattern shifters are only used when you are driving a very high and cars because then you would make the car reach 7000 RPM before changing the gear. Other than that those paddle shifters are of no use. I know a lot of guys having paddle shifters in their car but the reality is that if you are driving an automatic you would never want to mess with the gear system. 3) the thin sunroof shade do not cause a major discomfort overall. However there is one thing that in the daytime even if you use the shade it won't black and up the roof. On the other hand this even results in a feeling of more brighter and roomier cabin 4) why I do agreed that the audio quality of Aster is not superb but I cannot say that it is bad. The overall sound effect in any kind of genre is acceptable. If I did have a budget I would have definitely got an upgrade.

Even the Volkswagen Polo has a 3 cylinder engine and if you talk about the long term reliability of that car then it has proved its worth. The three cylinder engines do sound like they are very cheap to build or it feels like you are being called by the car company I to had a similar feeling. But after buying this car the thought never came in my mind. The people sitting in my car never complaint about the engine noise or any kind of vibration. The main difference between the three cylinder and four cylinder cars can be seen when the cars are in idle position. The four cylinder will not even feel like they are turned on but there will be little vibration in the three cylinder engine which would make you feel that the car is turned on. I got the three three three plan But I would recommend you to take MG Astor classic package of 5 years for servicing No other package is worth buying I would also recommend you to go for 5 years warranty if your budget allows. But there are lot of brand bashing , Astor bashing happening in the internet . Like that it won't give mileage etc . But the point is if you compare Astor CVT with creta ivT , both will more or less give similar mileage only . Likewise if you compare 220 turbo with 1.4tgdi , it will also give similar mileage only . But some internet walas particularly targeting Astor , creating negative impact about Astor .so only we have these kind of confusions I have one more question , cruise control stock is present in lower side . Whether it cause any problems . Whenever we drive whether that stock get hitted by our left leg , have you faced this issue ?

Good, saying bad things with good. Also, saw the working of blind view mirror, was working amazingly. Mujhe book karke almost ab 4 mahine ho gaye, sharp model. Abhi tak nahi aayi ,they promised 3 months in dec. Really disappointed with that , bhai base model thodi liya hai, time pe dena chaiye tha if they are promising. Atleast creta/700 jhoot toh nahi bol rahe hai. Khud hi 9 months or 1.5years bol rahe hai. Seltos bhi saath mai book kari thi same 18L wali, 3 months bolke Atleast 4 months mai di, but no ata pata of astor.

Bhai sorry to clear that doubt middle switch is for automatic wiper speed not to slow the speed of the wiper fluid Let me clear you one thing that earlier we were driving cars without sunroof so we never came to know where the water is going when we use the washer fluid now since it's all clear above our head so we are able to see where the water is going. The main aim of the washer fluid is to make your wind screen clean for a good driving and when the water is getting dispersed it is impossible for the car to make sure that it throws in a exact direction as wind speed and their other reasons which cannot be controlled. I have check it in other cars as well and it is completely normal.

Hi got delivered my Sharp MT on 19th June..I too thought milage like 8-9 in city and 12-15 on highway is not quite good enough. If your budget allows go for some real good speaker sets! The woofer might increase the bass of the music but the tone will only be improved by better speaker quality! If you invest in that, you will love it!

Hi Prakash, My car met an incident .it was hits a dog and front radar / sensor was damaged due to this forward collision is not working and it’s impacted entire ADAS system .Post , car has given to service and they took >10 days to identified the issues and has been rectified the same . However , Post service of car , We are facing number of issues such ADAS futures is collapsed and it’s not working also MG technicians & MG call centre peoples not given right solution to my problem . We felt very bad spent worth of money for top model of car .Kindly advise any one has faced this kind of issues and any solution available this issues.

I own a CVT one.. and city mileage (in Mumbai's bumper to bumper traffic) is around 5 ... which I dont ponder ..but only for 10 to 11 kmpl on Highway was disappointing.... wish this could have been improved, however when I raised this during the first service I got a reply saying that that's a good mileage .. 🤷‍♂️

See let me tell you how i am analysing the whole situation- The future of cars is electric based A complete electric car is useless for many including me because i can't plan my travel as an electric car would require. The next type of car is hybrid- that's where the success will be! As of now the mileage on electric only is 3kms and soon after that it starts charging , thereby improving the overall mileage! In future the 3km range would go to 10-40 and that would be a great selling point for many The Astor CVT is not going to give to a satisfactory mileage. In the sense that when you compare a car having hybrid mechanism the mileage is very different! 13 in CVT vs 24 in Hybrid (Toyota Hyrider) If you are a good driver the max you can go is 30 according to me! In general days it will save a lot of money! So in my opinion go for a hybrid. It's better and tested in first World nations! Feel free to revert! It's a kind of discussion and learning process!

I would say go for XUV if size is not an issue! XUV is more comfortable. Astor has really good driving dynamics (you don't feel like you are driving a suv) and turbo is an Excellent engine! Hope this helps! Feel free to reply

Thanks sir for reply...ONE more question I personal took test drive of astor & I felt rear seat thigh support was less so are rear seats comfortable in long run???

Not at all! In my recent run for about 350kms i was dead tired and i had to take rest at the back seat! I found the seats to be just ok Not as comfortable as i would expect! I am close to 6 feet This is my genuine observation

Hello bhai, I also own MG Astor, and that sunroof waali aawaaz is also coming from my astor, Can u pls tell How does MG solved this issue either by yourself or u can also give the contact number of the service representative of MG who solved this issue, because as such my issue is not yet solved, so it will be a great help bro if you will tell this.

20Kmph to 55kmph is taking around 10Sec in 3rd gear. Not sure whether test drive vehicle has the problem. Just confirming with you bro before buying

A loose bolt and some foam fitting helped in removing the noise 🙂

CVT is having some issue which is resulting in poor mileage! There is hardly anything which you can do in such a case!

Yes.. astor is my first car. Take licence in 2013. After that i didn't drive any car. I completed my driving class just before my car delivery. First i think about paste L sticker in my car. Later drop the idea. As i can handle the car easily.

Definitely a yes! No problem in buying Astor as your first car! Just make sure you drive easy for first 10000 kms after that i am sure you will be an expert to handle all types of situations!!

It must be a software bug! Main 100% run karta hoon Android auto par! So maine kabhi ye discover Kara hi nahi! Agar ye issue kaafi log face kar rahe hain then complaint to company will help as they will make sure this issue is resolved in future updates

Bro, it's not about the car it's about how you drive. Try to maintain the RPM under 2000, and avoid harsh driving. You'll get better mileage.

Bro i am getting good mileage! I am satisfied with the performance but we have many CVT owners complaining about it. It was only for their respect i mentioned this issue!
