I wish people would stop supporting this company. They are part of "Russian World". Doesn't matter they are not based there anymore, they are still Russian. They see everyone else who is not Russian as sub-human. They think you are scum. They think you are not important in any way and they are better than you in every way. There is continuous and overwhelming evidence of this. Fuck them.
Just one small correction, I wasn't paid for my Captain's Academy or How to Get Good series. They had this idea once to do some CC produced tutorial series to explain something and I made one video, just one, for it and they paid me. So what they did to Daniel is utterly bewildering to me.
The worst part is that even if someone in the agency fucked up, when WG realized its Daniel, they should have just gone ahead with the 100 codes and done the deal to maintain an existing relationship with someone who has promoted their game for years. What would it have cost WG? 20k dubs, 200 days of premium and some flags? C'mon man, thats pathetic. WG is just terrible. edit: nvm flamu said the same thing :D
well that one was a deep underwather torpedo citadel did IRL domage .... :,) russian devs none stops doing related wrong decisions WG gaijin BSG (escape from tarkov) WPGG i want to say
This is WG's worst case scenario. After the LWM/Turry etc fiasco, WG's supporters and customers no longer care enough about the game to make a public outcry. Not good.
How to alienate your own supporters 101, that WG keeps making these choices is absolutely baffling to me. Twitter: twitter.com/flamuchz Discord: discord.gg/Flamu Stream: www.twitch.tv/flamuu Insta: instagram.com/flamugram/
Obviously he's a CC so WG expects him to be a pig and promote them for free. If he was just a famous wows content creator then WG would be good to go with the deal
Gaijin, somehow, has a far better PR department than WG. I guess there's something to be said for brutal honesty when you don't even bother to pretend to be nice, as opposed to WG stabbing people in the back
WG's mindset is this: if you're a CC, you're expected to do the same job for free. So if you're a CC which proves you'd do the job for free, why would you ask to get paid for it now? WG gambles on the expectation that people like Daniel will keep working for free or for cheaper than what they'd pay for sponsorship members.
I remember a saying that goes like "don't assume malice if you can assume incompetence" But I also remember another saying that states that incompetence, if practiced consequently enough, is indistinguishable from malice.
Last week Jingles went through all the major publishing houses and was like "nobody has done anything really stupid for a while" I put a post - don't worry Wargaming will be along soon enough.... and here we are!
I think a lot of the remaining CCs are going to revaluate being a CC because now WG seems to be signaling that they no longer want to do business with them anymore.
Maybe, but I feel most smaller CCs will stay quiet, since being a CC brings people to their Twich and RU-vid Channels. Inthe end, it´s all about money.
Sounds like WG is starting a policy of “CC containment”; they seem afraid of their CC’s gaining “too much power” 😅 Since the little white mouse incident and the exodus of CCs they became cautious of their own community contributors.
basic thing: if a company answers ur questions about a deal or a cancel with "we not elaborate that further" ... RUN thats the worst that a company can do and it shows death is close ... see amazon gaming studio doing it alot in start of "new world" and look how great that got xD basicly if a company isnt able to elaborate stuff, it shows missmanagment so huge that no matter how good the product it just have to fail because of incompetence
Definitely interested in the legal ramifications. If the contracts good to go Wows sponsors jayz 2 cents and probably pay him like 50k for a 30 second add. Wg forgot who works with them then realized they already have free advertising
@@BBRAIN1977 idk for sure but he's a big youtuber. More exposure means more $$ and yah they bring it up at the beginning for like 30 seconds then never again
flamu people hate on you guys. you and flambass, you guys get so much crap yet you often make a lot of sense. in this case your right this is baffling to such a massive degree. some days man you just feel like wth is going on with people in these companies making such TERRIBLE decisions
0 dislikes so far... this explains how much people agree to flamu and the important points that he talks about. Thanks for doing what you are doing Flamu, keep it up! (I have the extension that shows dislikes)
@@ogscarl3t375 Yeah, their behaviour mimics the Kremlin to a frightening degree. -Blaming anyone but their leadership for all internal problems. -Sacking personnel on command. -Treating their community/people like living litter. -Focusing all efforts on- but ultimately failing to improve their image. -Focusing/spending more on propaganda than fixing any underlying issues. -Main problem with their navy are submarines... The list goes on.
This game went from having a rather passionate community with good relations with their creators to the mess that it is now. I would love to know what happened and why, but I don't think anyone would be able to say for certain what caused the decay.
I'm surprised they can still find people for the WOWS community team if they have to keep cleaning up after and covering for whoever makes these godawful decisions.
The fact that this company still has any CC working for them is mind boggling on its own. But then again, to say this is their only fuck up would be a massive understatement.
A lawyer suicidal enough to take on a company the size of WG probably charge more in about 45 seconds of consulting than he lost in worth of money. Also, if he looses that lawsuit he will probably be financially bankrupt and in dept for the major part of his life for what? 100 bucks?
@@happyblt624 That's one way to do it. But the cost of it all would probably still greatly exceed what he got in the first thus making the whole thing a dead case.
This is just another "miscommunication" because WGs management is blind, deaf, paraplegic and in a coma. There is no other goddamn way this whole thing can happen.
Can i just get a Rip for our boi Daniel. His vids got me into Wows. Good game, bad company. (at the base, looks nice and i like big boats, balance is shit)
To be honest I don't even know how anyone can be pro wargaming at this point heck are wargaming staff even pro wargaming anymore ? Judging by the decisions being made probably not lol
@3:53 You'd have to assume the other CCs were well aware of the situation, were fully informed, and had discussed their views with each other. That is way too much assumption Flamu, you gotta give people time to communicate to one another. After Little White Mouse, every CC should know WG is a dumpster full of hot baked diapers and this shit is inevitable. Bogzy is really cool. It's only a matter of time before WG destroys his soul.
Oh..."make it crystal clear with our external marketing partners"...dear me, I don't know what is more embarrassing, the unprofessional F-up or the sheer incompetence of the marketing team.
Sounds to me like the internal communications are a chaotic mess. Thousands of emails coming into one department, public relations departments in another city/country, heads of departments and chains of command all competing with each other etc etc. This whole biz, and others, describe the chaotic inner workings of an unprofessional bunch of money grabbing nerds trying to run a company like grown ups.
Yeeeha, the last WG-Special-love-for-CC and Customers was already some … aem… weeks (who counts nowadays) old? Hehe. Glad that I made my decision to use that what is on my account and be happy if I login … but the login time decreases day by day. Cheers Flamu, thx for sharing! Pepe
First training day schedule in a game studio 7;00am - first course : learn to make apology letter to the community and customer. 16;00pm - visit building and meet coworker. 16;02pm - group meeting and tomorrow's schedule.
I had my WOWS installed, updated for 3years just sitting on my desktop, everytime I think "maybe? Just logging in and have a look" Flamu drops another reminder on not doing it and saving my sanity as well as dignity, thanks Flamu.
WG didn't learn their lesson from the last time they upset the CC community and all their PR stunts, remember the "Little White Mouse" and Loot boxes gamble fiasco a year back where most if not all CC's left WG.
I remember helping organise the first battle of the Atlantic tournament/ King of the sea precursor before it became a whole WeeGee thing. the advertising for it from WG was non existent , they didn't even send the correct codes out for player accounts on the server. if I remember correctly those participating were running around messaging Tuccy and Mr Conway because NA office fucked up so badly. can't remember if you were part of our OMNI team that day Flamu but I remember going ballistic at julien and others naming their accounts after fruit instead of their actual in game names as we only had limited spare codes after all the effort went to get them.
I'd strongly suggest that Daniel get some legal counsel to help review the language of the contract and see what is enforceable as a result of breach of contract. Depending on the language and local contract laws, Wargaming or the advertising agency may be compelled to pay out their obligations even if those two parties have no interest at this point in moving forward with the promotion. There may be an attempted get out of jail free clause in the contract like "The Publisher may at any time for any reason exit the terms of this agreement." but in many cases these kinds of clauses are unenforceable. I don't know what the dollar value involved is obviously but if it was significant, it's worth at least sitting down with a lawyer and getting their advice. If they deem it worth pursuing the the next step would likely be a letter sent to Wargaming and the advertising agency demanding that they uphold their obligations in terms of compensation even if they have no interesting in executing the rest of the contract. TLDR - you might be able to force them to pay anyway, talk to a lawyer.
As a note, gaming companies often are hoping that streamers/content creators and the like are not familiar with regulations regarding contracts and intellectual property and so will pull stunts assuming that no one will hold them accountable. Often just getting a lawyer involved will change their tune in a heartbeat as they're fully aware of their own bullshit.
Maybe he can talk with lawyer to find way to suethe case in ECJ later on. I think wg will scare him if thing got into ECJ because it pretty bad idea to get another fine or risk to kick them out of EU.
@@p_1945 honestly unless the dollar value is $50,000+ I highly doubt it would be worthwhile going that far. Lawsuits are actions of last resort due to the time and expense. A legal demand with a threat of escalating to a local magistrate or claims court if some compensation isn't met would be the course of action assuming the contract language and local contract law were favorable. It really depends though on that contract language and what regulations apply. Specifically portions of contracts can be found unenforceable sure to being unconscionable. That is a clause so wildly unfair to one party over the other. This is where "get out of jail free card" clauses fall apart.
Daniel was one of the CCs who sticked with WeeGee during the past CC walkout. Did he expect that all the shit his former peers felt won't ever come to him? I feel bad for him and what WG did to him is disgusting, even tho he and his clan is filled with CV apologists who take personal offense when someone rants about a bad experience against CVs, and even ban people from joining the clan for the sake of their cute little CV apologists.
Good god.. I cannot fathom WG screwing over someone like Daniel, who’s been around for a rather long time. I genuinely thought that, after the whole “CC Rework”/Turry fiasco (and I’ve seen other comments mention this, I’m aware), WG would try to keep their remaining CCs at least “happy”. Welp.. time to watch another Rework, getting ourselves a Community Rework. Again. Also, respect to Boggzy (unsurprisingly yet surprisingly) being the only person in WG who is trying to help.
I 100% stopped playing a few years ago. You do business with whom you want to do business with. If there is something wrong with the product or the management, you may want to stop doing business with them.
i kinda assume this is because the marketing team was supposed to find new youtubers, that was their remit for this program, thus trying to outreach to new people. when WG went to make the code they realized that he was already in the system, thus "invalid" for this outreach program. sure he told Marketing, but either they fucked up, or didn't care, and it got caught when someone outside marketing found out. total shitshow.
Think about the process from the advertisement agency's point of view. WG: We want you to get us sponsored content, something new we can spotlight. Ad Agency: Excellent, we're on it. ~30 days later~ Ad Agency: As you requested and approved, we are 2 days from going live on the sponsorship, the video content is ready, the announcement material and promotional material has been created, and Daniel is excited to be on board. WG: Daniel who? Naw, scrap the whole thing, we changed our minds. Ad Agency: Ok, that sucks, but you are still going to pay us, right? ~Nervously looks at their lawyers...~
The good thing is: according to his introduction he's kind of nice guys that studies Kerbal space programm to do it for real at some point in time. As you can see in this very video he also is good at crushing rockets in places. So if WG pisses him off just enough the next Ariane-Version might have some trouble - lets call it a balistic accident - and finds WG HQ. They had it coming.
This game is circling the drain. The reworks; camera, Subs, CVs, LittleWhiteMouse and now Daniel, power-creep, selling off company parts, trying to combine servers, and the overly blatant cash grabs. I'm sure there is more to add to this short list but they are doing it to themselves and we are caught up watching this dumpsterfire that is WeeGee. WeeGee your killing your own game and you don't even care.
If there is a contract with NDA but the other side backs out of the deal, shouldn't that nullify the NDA too or is that NDA a separate contract made on top of the other contract so they can just do wtf ever they want?
I'm a bit confused by his post. He says "they told me they wouldn't work with me because I'm a CC". Why does he then say he had to email them to tell them he's a CC if they already know he is. It's kinda confusing.
Seems like somebody ripped out the page on their Oxford dictionary where the word "miscommunication" was.... When you thought they had learnt from previous mistakes, and tried their best to ensure that there wouldn't be any more issues... When you ask yourself: "Is it possible for them to dig any deeper...", they hear it, and believe it was a challenge. What a sh*tshow.
How WG treated LWM, Submarines being forced down our throats, Super CVs & Nakhimov, Increasingly greedy monetisation, Continual bugs including aiming & railgun and now they go after Daniel. I'm uninstalling.
A generous interpretation could be that weegee "killed" it by refusing to pay the agency. It's entirely possible they realized he was a CC and told the ad agency they weren't getting paid. As a result, the agency told daniel weegee axed the deal
So if I get this right... they don't want to partner with CCs because they consider them as being "already converted" and they're only interested in fresh blood ? (kinda like how they don't like giving stuff to existing players, only new ones) Or am I missing something.
So what happened is when he told the marketing company he was a "CC" they took that to mean Content Creator which is what it normally means and what marketing companies usually deal with, WG using the same phrase for Community Contributors. That said WG should have picked up on it before the work was done or honoured the contract.
I just started watching the first minute of this video, so I don't know what the exact issue is. However, I bet Wargaming's response will be that it was "a communication error between them and the CC. Something they will have to work harder on in the future."
Having dealt with foreigners before, they always use the excuse that there was a misunderstanding when all along they understood exactly what their responsibilities were. It is a shame to hear that WG is shitting on their pillow over a few hundred dollars that would have made them thousands of dollars. Since I play WOT and WOW for the last 10 years on WOT and 6 years on WOW, I have seen a lot of stupid moves by WG. If they are a bunch of ex military at the head of this snake, and after learning how the Russian military command structure works it explains everything to me. Lack of communication between leadership and middle management.
I enjoyed playing the game, but left about 3 years ago, now I've been reminded as to what I thought about WG and the "logic" they used. Damn glad I left
I was almost missing the PR drama, there relations between WG and the playerbase were great for soooo looooong that i feared they would not slip up anymore.
I would like to Note for the Ppl who dont know Daniel Rusevs content - he is a really positive guy in his vids rarely complains about the game itself - and doenst flame i think the worst thing i saw him doing was calling another player "a crumbled cookie". If WG hates some Content Creators for being foulmouthed or negative (wich in my opinion is kind of childish) Rusev isnt even one of them.
If I try and put my “how does this make any freaking sense” hat, I can only assume the marketing company was going to get paid to discover some new exciting, but somehow untapped unicorn of a streamer that WG didn’t know about. Maybe they were going to pay the marketing team a lot to discover/manage such a person. You’d think they’d just go djrect and do the offer. But you know, maybe it’s stupid to look for logic in what WG are doing. They seem to have NFI how to maintain a healthy ecosystem.
Wonder how much money WG wasted just kicking around the contract during a money in terms of salaried employee time and meetings. Probably a lot more than US$80.
