Practical 3D Printing - Shop-vac Tool Adapter | [0034]
I needed an adapter to allow my small shop-vac to connect to my miter saw. I couldn't find an existing adapter, so I decided to fire up Fusion 360 and model my own to 3D print.
In this video I walk through how I modeled the adapter in Fusion 360 from the perspective of a Fusion beginner (i.e. me). The idea isn't to be an absolute authority, or show the best or only way to model something in Fusion. Rather it's to show that even with basic knowledge of the software you can fumble your way to a useful, functional part.

Glad it helped! It’s a basic walkthrough and knowing what I do now, it’s not the most efficient way to design something like this in Fusion. But if it results in a end product that you can use, we’ll, that’s the point. Keep at it, Fusion is a beast but it is amazing and worth the learning curve.

While I haven't gotten into Fusion360 at all, this looks like a good just starter overview without being overwhelming. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks, that was the goal. Nothing ground breaking here, just wanted to show that even with just a super basic understanding, you can have a functional part to either print yourself or send off for printing. The best way to learn Fusion is either model something you need and/or a real world object (Lars tutorials follow the latter).

Hey, I remember you making a video about a cracked baseball bat. I found a baseball bat with a crack up near the barrel. Do you think it can still be fixed?

Without seeing it it's hard to say. If it's just a crack, some reinforcement with dowels may save it, or if it's a big enough crack maybe inject some epoxy in it... maybe a combination of both dowels and epoxy. Still something that you'd want to be careful using as it would still possibly be weaker than it was in it's original state. The one I fixed did end up breaking (I have a feeling it was being used in a way to try to break it ;) ) but not at the repair point, rather adjacent to it. Here are the two videos on the bat: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CeXU8yGfiiA.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qOhFwvOqAnc.html
