This session will be formatted as a conversational milieu, focusing on significant approaches for engagement to promote hope and healing for male survivors. Clinical interventions and case examples from MenHealing Weekend of Recovery events will be shared and participant questions will be encouraged.
Co-Presenter - Kenton Kirby, LCSW
With up to 20 years of experience, Kenton previously worked in the child welfare system in New York City and was a Forensic Social worker throughout the New York court system. He has been an adjunct lecturer at the graduate and undergraduate level in New York City. He has extensive experience providing individual and group therapy to those with complex mental health needs in sex offenders, parenting, and drug treatment programs.
Co-Presenter - Diana Thomas, MED, CHMC
Diana is a licensed clinical mental health counselor. She trained in feminist multicultural therapy at the University of Utah and worked at the Rape Recovery Center for many years, including six years as clinical director. She is certified in EMDR and The Work of Byron Katie. She has facilitated workshops on trauma response, shame resilience, listening skills, mindfulness, and self-care.
