라흐마니노프 - 피아노협주곡 3번 1악장 연습
Please bear with the sound quality. I was too lazy to do all the sound setup so just used my iPhone.
Yes, I’ve been practicing this monster since… wow it’s been already 8 months.
Tested memory…and it’s such a hard piece to memorize :( well, not only memorizing, also in a technical matter…yes🤭 yes🥲
I recorded the 2nd and 3rd mvt as well on that day, I don’t know when I’m gonna….

i find that the hardest part about learning this is that when you're learning the notes (at least for me) they don't sound "right" until you speed it up, so it's kind of confusing to learn. Hard to explain.
@franzliszt9332
@franzliszt9332 2 года назад
Exactly what I’ve thought. Especially some parts of the left hand for me, they sound nothing like what you’d expect. One good thing about this is that after learning Rachmaninoff, Chopin becomes a lot easier ahahah. Hope it’s going well for you!

Its true with Rachmaninoff. The texture of his music comes to life when its played at full speed.

The cadenza was FRICKING AMAZING I have been working on it and it’s so hard to do the jumps and that crazy alternating chord part and everything is greatly accomplished by you. Little fubs here and there but I mean common you did rach 3 1st movement beautifully with fantastic technique!

I just watched one video and im now a fan. I dont think people realize how important practice videos are, I’ve always been scared of big pieces like concerto (especially Rachma) even if these are the pieces that made me want to start practicing piano (I’m an adult sort of beginner). I’ve search for a long time for rehearsal videos on youtube cause it helps me break down the piece in my head (by looking at it being played without the orchestra part, and much slower than the original opus). Most recording available on youtube are Live ‘Perfect’ ones that are good for the public ears (cause the whole pack -sound, scenery..- is enchanting) but it makes me personally feel like it’s an inaccessible impossible piece because of its perfect appearance. Thank you for your wonderful playing, and more importantly for those little mistakes here and there, for the camera angle, the piano sheet so we can follow. It sure demanded some editing work and i appreciate that as a fellow pianist. Bravissimo 👏

I thoroughly enjoyed this. It gives those who don't play a glimpse of the grueling mind numbing work involved to perfect it. Love your sense of humor too. I could relate to all the areas you struggled with, especially the "easier" beautiful passage after the cadenza where my memory always seems to play tricks on me as well. The brain and muscle memory are a complex thing. 😂😂 Beautiful work!!! You are an amazing pianist!

It's funny how memory slippage is more prone to happen when there are less notes per second. Selective practice is like a force feedback and explains it completely.

I love your smoothness of execution. I use too much pedal to try to make up for technical problems. There were aspects of your performance of the section before the "first Cadenza" that contained unusual fingering I did not recognize or use. But I think they were better than mine. I would love to see you write out some fingering in the denser passages that might help me. I have large hands and am good at "pounding" large chords. But that does not music make.... Great work!! Hi, I saw that you wrote in an A instead of a B at the Accelerando at the end of the cadenza. I was wondering if this B is a misprint in scores or if you separately chose to keep it out because it makes no sense (which I agree with you on)

@Entertainer114
@Entertainer114 2 года назад
Maybe only slightly faster. But he played it pretty much at the final tempo. it's a stupendously hard piece, and he's still in the process of learning it, so all things considered, this was a great job. There are tons of concert recordings of this piece all over RU-vid, so you can compare them to this.
