A few weeks ago, the Sunday webinar on chineseswordacademy.com we learned about the snake step. In my practice today, I played with the snake step to get to the outside line. It required that I stir my jian clockwise under my opponent's weapon, setting up a cut to the top of the arm. I often added a hua cut to the leg, followed by tiao to the arm. Targeting the tiao was hard because the diameter of the pole is so narrow. Regarding my training apparatus, the idea came from a video on the academy where Laoshi suggested trying a ladder, broom handle, and bungee chords. I had all 3 and it worked great. I can see plenty more drills to use this. This is an unedited portion of my practice on 6/12/2024
