A surefire method of practicing drumbeats for beginners. And for drum teachers who have students that are beginners, and have challenges helping their beginner students overcome their frustrations of learning drum beats.
I demonstrate how to use a simple tool to manage the mistakes that comes with practicing drumbeats. And how these mistakes can actually assist beginners in learning the drum beats properly so that they can play along to music successfully, and lot sooner.

I've only been drumming for about 10 months and I only play with my husband (he plays guitar). I've not taken any classes, he just tells me how he wants me to keep time, when to do a fill, when he wants cymbals, etc. I have a lot of fun but I don't feel like I'm actually LEARNING. Your videos have been SO helpful to me because most of the time I feel totally lost and you make me feel like that's ok and to just keep working on it and that I don't really suck 😂

Thanks for the comment Coe. I try my best to keep the videos around 10 minutes. Sometimes going to 15 min cause of a lot of performance content to cover. You should see how much footage I edit out :) As far as repeating myself, yes I agree that I do that as a habit. It comes from years and years of teaching private lessons. Repetition is the key to learning. Just like you repeat a drumbeat or hand pattern or whatever, over and over and over to master it. Its kinda the same when teaching students. Saying things once can easily be forgotten from the listener, but saying them a few more times, increases the chances of listener understanding and internalizing the content. I know that it can be a bit of a pain in the ass for those who pick up things really quickly, but I have to make sure that my points are understood. However, I will be a bit more conscious of this in future videos. Cheers!
