it is called "en passant" move in the chess, when you are moving your pawn over two squares and it locates parallelly to the opponents pawn, the opponent has a right to take your pawn diagonally.

@ellenjarrard7920 4 года назад
@Hamza tube If a pawn moves two spaces in the beginning, a pawn (the opposite color) directly beside its new position has a chance to take it by moving to the space the first pawn would be if it just moved one space. It is called "en passant" because that is French for "in passing". This rule was added so that the pawn beside it has a chance to take it. Note: It is only allowed directly after the pawn moves two spaces.

@@maxneuman8422 ok am happy u asked the question am gonna clear ur doubts gms and top players can predict the game upon sotuation and even if situation is bad they dont give up bcoz there is a chance for improvement say ur queen is trapped yet not under attack but uts gonna be useless for say next several moves so as a player u already know ur on a disadvantage compared to opponent whose pieces are free to move but u can play further and save the queen and continue playing with a little disadvantahe which u may be able to fix but a player resigns when he is inevotably on a big loss say for a simple example there is a fork between his pieces and he is gonna losse his rook or queen so on gm level plays they already know that being a rook down is massive disadvantage and lose is inevitable and its very very rare that at gm level someone will blunder the rook advantage in this game i believe none of the above happened the player must hv calculated like 7 or 8 moves ahead about him having a position in which he would soon be a pawn down or check mate or a piece down or the passed pawn is inevitable from becoming queen so unles the opponent has much less time left it is vague to play on
