Well of course. The art style is much better in death palette, hes clearly progressed as an artist. While this is charming the art is very basic. Hes definitely pushed himself to get much better & the results speak for themselves

You may argue that it's similar for the moon as well, except as explained by ManlyBadassHero, the moon signifies illusions, and therefore her love is always mixed with fear of exposure, as she protects those she loved by hiding the truth away from them, despite the fact that it would hollow out those she tried to protect, depriving them the chance to complete themselves. The sun, on the other hand, tries to help his loved ones with straight dopes. Yes, the light does occasionally harm, but one may get used to it and deal with it. In the end, the arrangement of events somehow conveniently turned the moon's protection and the sun's help into a trial of love for the vampire girl. Without the moon, her love to the fleeting mortal would eventually grieve her, consume her, just as her father had to swallow the unpalatable truth. Without the sun, her passion would simply ashen and reach no end. The journey brought her to the brink of death -- the most unpalatable truth -- as close as possible, while keeping the path to her love, or life, illuminated. She walked through the trial of love, accepted the eventual mortality of the boy yet did not lose sight of the truthfulness of their bond, and that's how we have a bittersweet happy ending.

Meanwhile, the Moon is the opposite; while they don't harm the Girl, the moon wants to have the boy all to himself. Like, imagine the Sun was a friend who had a crush, knew it would never be returned, but accepted that. The Moon, on the other hand, is a... Nice Guy™.

The Sun and the mother are close to each other (maybe romantically?), one day the Vampire Father enters the picture and basically took the mother away from The Sun. The mother passed away after her daughters birth. And then back to the present where the Sun came to help the daughter reunite with her love; after again (funny enough) the Vampire Father took her lover away. I don't understand The Sun's intention in all these, but it's probably either he thought that he should be responsible to guard the daughter because he feels like it's her own daughter, OR, The Sun developed romantic feelings for the daughter but he wanted to make the girl happy so he decided to help her out in finding her lost love and such.

I think the sun abandoned the moon

It's very reminiscent of the old fables and ancient mythology where gods and spirits would become fixated on an ordinary person for seemingly no reason. In fact, there are multiple myths about Apollo (the Greek God of the Sun) doing exactly that in Greek myth.
