1 Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation! O my soul, praise him, for he is your health and salvation! The song is composed by the German pastor Joachim Neander (Lobe den Herren, den mächtigen König der Ehren). The Neander Valley (German: Neanderthal), was named after him, and this, in turn is the namesake for early humans.
