Great video...I just hope we can understand the differences between a stage or platform and an Altar.... DIFFERENCES BETWEEN AN ALTAR AND A STAGE 1. A stage is for performance; an altar is for worship. 2. A stage is for competition; an altar is for completion. 3. A stage is for personal applause; an altar is for God’s glory. 4. A stage is for wooing and elating the frantic crowd; an altar is to demolish and rebuild lives after righteousness, holiness, and Christlikeness. 5. A stage is for dishing popular sentiment; an altar is for delivering heaven’s edicts. 6. A stage is for selfish ambition; an altar is for selfless sacrifice. 7. A stage is owned and manned by man; an altar is owned and supervised by a particular deity to whom it is erected and dedicated. Our Church altar is owned and manned by Jesus so that the gates of hell will not overcome. 8. A stage is where everything must be perfect; an altar is where the imperfect are perfected. 9. A stage is where man ascends; an altar is where God descends. 10. A stage pushes professionalism; an altar stresses spirituality. 11. A stage is all about how to project the right image; an altar is concerned about how to mold character. 12. A stage is for fireworks display of human excellence, skill, and ingenuity; an altar is for the release of the divine purging fire of His holy presence. 13. A stage is where stars gloat over the camera’s glare; an altar is where sons lie prostrate, struck by heaven’s glory. 14. A stage is where a brilliant blaze of firecrackers illuminate the performer; an altar is where a bolt of heaven’s fire transfigures the worshipper. 15. A stage is where living beings are showcased; an altar is where dead beings are offered. 16. A stage is where artists pull out all the tricks of the trade to dazzle the crowd; an altar is where servants stay true to their call so as to let the congregation draw closer to Jesus. 17. A stage is where superstars hog the limelight; an altar is where everything pales into insignificance in light of the stunning Bright Morning Star. 18. A stage is a place of speaking fine grammar but an altar is a place of Revelation. 19. A stage is a place of telling stories and fables of London and America but an altar is a place of in-depth teaching of RAW AND UNDILUTED WORD OF GOD. 20. A stage is a place for self promotion and exaltation but An altar is a FIRE ARENA WHERE THE FIRE OF GOD BURNS. 21. A stage is where attention is centered on the pocket of men, but an Altar is where total attention is centered on the recovery of the heart and soul of men back to/for God. *Do you have “AN ALTAR” or “A STAGE” ???
Thank you! I'm 18 years old & I've been on the prasie team since I was 14. & I just thank God for the promotion ask now being the Worship Leader & also the encouragement in this video
I was so lost a few years ago and came searching for videos like yours to guide me as a leader. This will be a huge blessing to many, as it has been to me. God Bless you!
I am only a few minutes into your video, but I had to stop and write thank you for your terminology choices! It is refreshing to hear the Platform instead of the Stage. So many, even those I admire for their skills, have embraced referring to a stage and audience vs. platform and congregration. In my humble opinion, as long as they think like that they will never be free of the element of entertainment vs. entering into to the Holy Place. Thank you!

this is great! I'm an indonesian, the coordinator of praise and worship team in my church has been trying to get trainings for us, but it's a little difficult for a small church in a small town like ours. Glad I searched in youtube and found your video. I'm sure this will help. Thanks Cassandra, God bless your ministry

My God this has truly blessed me! I know I have been called to be a praise and worship leader but because of the fear of “flesh” I have stand hostage to that fear. I am studying his word more now then every and asking him to lead and guide me. This has truly blessed and in ways that I can’t explain.
May God continue to lead, guide and strengthen you as you obey His call, especially during this difficult time. I'm glad you were inspired by the video.
The keep ur eyes open …whew…I’m glad u said as much as possible…becuz we lead by example I have found that as we worship the congregation will follow. They need to see how some don’t know how so we lead them…especially when we sing “the God to man songs” lol it takes u to a place that God moves in such a way that we say it’s no longer me but Him and the congregation is compelled to worship at his feet…i was tickled at the closed door with people looking in part 😂😂 I am mso guilty. However as a worship leader in the beginning I had to close my eyes and see Jesus cuz then spirits out there use to be distracting …so I would tell beginners that sometimes u have to close them eyes and sing ur way thru lol thanks for sharing. I love the three category list this is the break down of the order of songs we sing and it’s number 2-3 that can take over a service 🙌🏽🙌🏽 and i definitely agree with the simplicity of a song so people can worship as well… thanks for sharing this was awesome.
I have so enjoyed your leading on praise and worship videos Minister Hunsucker I love how you are so excited to welcome God to come in. You are anointed and it is so lovely how you express it makes one want to exalt our Most High God.:-) I'm on the praise choir not a worship leader but I pray ALL who come this way will watch this video it's such a blessing!!
Short and very informative. It is great to present education behind the praise. God bless your ministry. Brother Joseph, Dallas, TX Christian Stronghold Church Member.
thank you! very helpful. I just started closing my eyes b/c sometimes ppl look like they don't know God at all and that causes me to lose focus and become very self-conscious. like you are really pouring out your worship and they look like ... man, can we sit down, can we move on. not everyone but some. I POUR it all out and I get distracted when ppl look like they have no idea what worship is. I know sometimes they don't worship at home and they don't live a life of worship. so I know it is not related to me... sometimes. I really appreciate the tips. love the term "worship celebration".
psalmistmarcias + I know the feeling. singing and praising with all your heart and some in the congregation look at you like you are speaking a foreign language.
Thank u mam for the lessons it was really helpful to m from now on I will do praise n worship with all my soul n with all my heart n with all my spirit n I believe in God that he will help m I believe that God has prepared my future with beautifully n he has given m opportunity on higher 1 n I received amen 🙏

This was and is a great teaching. I love to worship I know God has designed me to worship him from everything in me. I just taught about the difference in Praise & Worship. Praise everyone can do , but Worship is a personal relationship between you and God. I will email you.
Hi cassandra!! i loved your video, And I'm involved in my church's worship ministry (playing the piano)... But I do love everything related to worship leader and I like to learn from people like you. So Please wouldn't yoy mind telling me if there is any way I can communicate with you and ask you some doubts about worship leading?.. I'd like to learn more about it
Praising God wiith Skillfully is one of the most important part of praise & worship. Thanks for your video. I think we need to be contact so that we can work together sometime. My youth organization is seeking for someone who can come teach us in our 3 days seminar.
Great tips on Worship leading. I'm learning a lot and I hope to implement them asap. About the closing of eyes, it's very hard to keep my eyes open during worship (slower songs) because I will sometimes get distracted by someone or something in the audience. So it's usually better for me to keep my eyes closed to be confident in my worship. Any advise?
A few of you have expressed concern about closing your eyes... You feel when you close your eyes that you are less distracted. That may be true that you're less distracted but you have now shut off those people who you are supposed to be leading. What you will need to do is practice before an audience of family members or friends, whatever you need to do to become accustomed to looking at people while leading worship. You don't necessarily have to stare at them or look directly into their eyes. You can look at their eyebrows or at the top of their heads... from their perspective it looks like you're looking right at them. The point is to not close your eyes for more than 3 seconds and to engage in worship with those that are there to worship with with you. remember to keep the door and worship open.
I'm a praise and worship leader too in a small church. during worship singing i always close my eyes to feel the song, to feel the pressence of God deep in my heart, then I open my eyes to see the people who is worshiping too and as I see them raise their hand and sing with me i get encouragement to go on in my worship, so for me leading praise and worship is not always open your eyes because the people also open their eyes and no intimacy of the holyspirit that is moving if thats happen so for me during worship memorize the song if possible so you can close your eyes and have passion on it and you feel the move of the holyspirit because it needs to begin with the leader also down to the church congregation, you need to live a worshipper in your daily life also
hello...thank you for this incouragement very helful to me...but if i sing i feel cry specialy if the song touch my heart then i cannot sing, so defecult to sing...can you advice me what more i can do to lead a song please thank you!
I'm glad that the videos were encouraging to you. Now as it relates to singing and crying or trying to sing while crying, that can be a difficult thing to do. This is one of the reasons why it is so important to have your own personal worship time. A lot of worship leaders have their own personal quiet time where they read scripture pray but few include singing unto the Lord. When you have your own personal time of worship with God there are no time constraints; there is no limit on how long you can stay in worship. Use this time to allow the songs to minister to you, that way you're free to express your emotions without the burden of trying to be understood as you sing the words. Sunday morning worship for Worship Leaders is about service unto God and His church. Where to lead them in worship and to do it well. I am in no way saying that you cannot cry when you're singing. It is always okay for tears to fall. There's never a problem with that, but as you have stated, you find it difficult to cry and sing. When this happens what you need to do is just allow the congregation to continue singing the chorus while you gather yourself in a worshipful manner by mouthing the words but not actually singing or allow someone else to take over. You don't want your emotions to be a distraction to those that are in worship because they can't understand what you are saying. I hope this was helpful to you as well.
