Takes me back to my Army days at Fort Campbell, when we deployed to Saudi Arabia. There was a sergeant, SGT Hopkins, who would use MCHammer lyrics to call cadence. Cool NCO, awsome times.
This song just rolled into my head 🗣️🧠 because it speaks volumes of then and now. We definitely must Pray 🙏🙌♥️ just to make it Today and Everyday !!!!!
I still listen to all of MC Hammer's music. I was told back in 2001, that he became a minister. Still one of his best songs (including remixes) and the Prince sample.
Having seen this video 25 years ago give me a newfound appreciation for Hammer and how God used him to get the message out. We STILL NEED TO PRAY TO MAKE IT TODAY!!! #Respect
Mc hammer muy trasparente quizo ayudar la juventud pero las juventud ama mas la tinieblas que la Luz Zéro malas palabras por lo cual merece ser el Rey del hip hop
I am so GLAD that you left this comment. You took the words right out of my mouth. MC Hammer did try to help so many people, that he went broke himself. It's true. He has a heart of gold. Be Well.... Rhonda
MC Hammer is really a good person. There is no wonder why he became a minister. When he made it big, he wanted to share his wealth with everyone. It ended up being a huge mistake, but he still had a big heart. He was looking out for everyone in his community. I wish there were more positive rappers out there now.
Hammer was for sure a very great dancer. I was one of his fan when I was a child and still now, I find his steps wonderful. I say thank you, Mr. Stanley Kirk Burrell.
The Hammer was never as real or more himself than he was with Pray and that is why this not only his best song but a true 1990s hit across all musical genres.
1:57 "Children dying, oh so fast from this and that (That's word, we pray) Need that money, working that dope, smoking that crack (That's word, we pray) Ten years old, stand outside, better look out (That's word, we pray) Dead and gone, never had a chance, what's it all about?" Tell 'im, Hammer
Mike Donato - John 3:16 My favorite verse:) “For God so loved the World that he gave his only begotten son that so who ever believeith in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. Amen.”
Very well put. MCHammer's financial 'downfall' (for lack of a better word) was apparently at the very least, partially due to his dedication to bringing as many friends and people from the hood(his word, not mine) along with him, as dancers, and other ways of keeping them taken care of & paying as many people as possible (this was said on VH1 years ago). I thought that was so awesome of him as well. You won't see that now, either.. Lucky if they take care of their immediate family, if at all
Man such awesome rapp and still very relevant today because we sure need pray to make it through these end times. Anyone that don't know Jesus now is good time. John 3:16
Favorite Hammer track. First heard it at a Chess King in Fair Oaks Mall in VA dropping in on my homie Kwame. Is that When Doves Cry? I remember thinking...
probably but always from great songs and rythm great tunes always move on so i think Prince should be happy for the rythm as well. The masters dancing like this of course were and are James Brown, MJ, Prince and MC
the MC the best rapper in history energy and rythm good lyrics for good will no bullshit lyrics about crack, police, fucking drugs gangsta bullshit, ghostly enemies public or fears and hookers. Of course rap is against drugs, racism, is for the good will, religion not like today but the feeling to believe to good will. Inspiration and dance rythm and believe. Thats a reason l liked hip hop/rap and danced like hell those days. Now rappers have wealth and golden homes but have no ideas beliefs.
