First published in 1885, composer Mykola Lysenko’s “Prayer for Ukraine” has become a beloved song for the Ukrainian people. Lysenko’s words of “protect our Ukraine, shine on her your blessings of freedom and light” act as a worldwide beacon of hope for democracy. 🇺🇦

Brings tears to my eyes...I know, I have an Irish name....on my mother's side of the family, I'm Polish, Ukranian and Russian. My grandfather loved our country so much that at the age of 51 during WW2, he volunteered to serve as a civilian in the Aleutian Islands. He spent 2 years there, with the privileges of a Staff Seargent in the US Army. He never talked much about it but I knew he was often under fire. This music is a beautiful tribute to those in the Ukraine that are under fire today, and to my grandfather that risked his own life to pay tribute to our country. Thank you!

This is such an incredible performance and as a Ukrainian I am deeply touched by the gentle and yet powerful music and singing. And OMG the amount of work these amazing people put into pronouncing the lyrics so crisply and carefully. I love the accompanying video as I can tell it was put together with love and understanding of our spirit. Thank you so much, dear brothers and sisters. Dear Ukrainians - I wish we could do more to save and heal your tired souls - (An American). I listen to this Prayer almost nightly to remind me of the beauty of your people, your country and your Defiant, Fearless Leader _ Zelensky_ who is letting the world know how much you and your country means to him. This is God's earth and his people, not to be destroyed by anyone. Let music and hope fill your hearts. LOVE TO ALL OF YOU. Let the sunflowers bloom and speak for you always.
