I don't really have the luxury of praying with other people... Nobody else seems to care where I am ... They're all too busy watching NCIS.. none of them care about their relationship with God but I do.. Something that has transformed my prayer life is recognizing that God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness. When we shift from asking God to do something to receiving what He has already done, it changes many things. Kind of like having a spiritual kingdom account. We come to God asking for something and He reminds us that we already have what we desire in our account, so draw it out and make use of it.
Brandon! I am a Christian from Pakistan. I enjoy your videos, they are full of information and great knowledge. I learned more about the Gospel and my Savior. I feel the spirit when I watch these videos.
I love that you mention to "pray in nature" I take daily walks every day and I'm out in the beautiful Northern California hills around the Bay Area. It makes me realize that if Our Creator can make all of this, He can certainly meet all of Our needs.
You are on my list of pastors for whom I pray when God gets me up in the middle of the night. I know this is unconventional, but if I really want to concentrate whilst praying, I sit behind my computer and TYPE my prayer in Microsoft Word. As if I'm writing a letter to God. It helps me tremendously and then I stay focussed. Some people don't agree with this approach, but to write something that makes sense, and isn't just a stream of incoherent words, takes concentration. In this way I feel I'm really concentrating in what I'm saying to God.
What about what is said, to pray for God's Will be done? I start to pray for God's healing for someone, then I switch to, or may your will be done? I truly am grateful for your clarity on how to pray more effective prayers. I have been living alone, as a widow, and have devoted my time in learning, applying and praying, Journaling, trying to apply humility and praise. I am so grateful for God, Lord Jesus n Holy spirit loving me. I feel so lonely at times, I share my struggles with others, I know the Truth of God's word, I'm never alone! Jesus is my very best friend! I'm so grateful to you for your time to make these videos to help others! Praise God ! Your Jewish wisdom has helped me so much! I have really struggled these past 2 years; long story, but I've had covid 3 times and now the flu. I sit behind my condo often and am grateful to see nature and trees and clouds and sun and I put seed out for the birds and squirrels. My anxiety reduces in this setting. One day, I was sitting out back and I believe the Holy Spirit drew my eyes to the trees and there, on a small trunk in the bushes, was a reflection of a small cross ... it was so powerful. Tearfully, I thanked Jesus Christ for seeing me in my pain and loneliness. He definitely doesn't sit back and watch us suffer. He DOES truly love each and every one of us and is near and cares at ALL times and in ALL things! Please keep making these videos!! My God Bless you and your loved ones richly!!
I learned to pray with my eyes open while teaching at a Christian school. Little saints kept trying to steal and set fire to things during class devotions

Good points! I might add thank God when you have a God-thought or a scripture comes to mind. "Thanks, God, for reminding me..." etc. Not, "Oh, well I don't know if that was God or me." Acknowledge it to be Him whether it is or not, talk with Him and thank Him, and you're bound to increase your relationship with Him that way and hear from Him more often. "My sheep hear my voice." He created you to be able to hear his voice. Blessings to you today
I bring my cell phone and ear phones when I go to the gym. When I am exercising I go to RU-vid and pray many prayers. Like the divine mercy chaplet and the scriptural rosary and the prayers to st Bridget. At the adoration I like to do the Stations of the cross. So many places you can pray. Turn the TV OFF.
Psalm 22 is Christs’ perspective from the cross; His experience. Notice he says “God answers Him from the horns of the alter!” None of that nonsense about God looking away. That never set right with me when someone would say that about The crucifixion. So when the veil is torn we now know. This was a personal Aha! to me when reading it and I still love it. Makes my Cry on Good Friday to read it. It’s so personal; truly The passion of Christ. Psalm Ends with more or less saying it is accomplished or complete; Finis. Much of what Jesus did was to fulfill scripture precisely. He really was obedient unto death. Wow.
I've tried all that, and I give up on praying. God just does not like some people's prayers, or some people to pray. It is what it is. I still love Him, and I still worship Him, I just don't pray anymore because when I do, the situation gets worse.
Brandon - you are spot on the mark. We must be less passive and more active with our prayers. When we pray for something, we must redouble our efforts to conserve what we already have and what we are about to receive. Thanks for this lesson!

Absolutely, in Jesus Name. There are many gods and false spirits. Many do not associate Jesus with God. Our prayers are good testimonies, when we say I asked in Jesus Name, and God answered me. Jesus is our one mediator between us and God.
Imprecatory prayers are the ones that pray curses and defeat over your enemies, like David did a lot in Psalms. Here's my favorite: New King James Version Psalm 139:19-22 "Oh, that You would slay the wicked, O God! Depart from me, therefore, you bloodthirsty men. For they speak against You wickedly; Your enemies take Your name in vain. Do I not hate them, O Lord, who hate You? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You? I hate them with perfect hatred; I count them my enemies." Pretty powerful! 📖🙏
Thank you Brandon, thank you very much! I've often wondered if my prayers were being done correctly. I realize I'm not perfect, and I make mistakes, this is the reason I sometimes doubt whether he hears me or not. I've never had anyone tell me anything even close to the six steps you mentioned, but I have actually been praying like that most of my life. I think of him as being there with me when I pray.

I did not grow up in a religious home where prayer or scripture was taught , so I had no example to look up to . I learned about Jesus by going to Sunday school with one of my friends , but I always knew something was missing , because you take certain scriptures break it down and explain what Jesus was saying when I go back and read those verses and chapters it makes sense and it is just not words that I gloss over - Thank you for your ministries, as after listening to your videos and reading the chapter that you just talked about truly makes me thirsty to,read and learn more . We've been praying for the SALE OF OUR HOUSE for over ten years now so needless to say... I've hit rock bottom. At the moment I'm just begging God for mercy. We have the most beautiful house RIGHT ON THE BEACH... We've been given many reasons as to why our prayers have not been answered... from a Pastor telling us we don't have enough faith...from a friend telling us that maybe our house is from the devil... it's not God's will...it's not God's timing... etc etc... I've even cried out to God to break any curse that may be over us or our home. Please... Can you help me with a prayer to pray for the sale of our property, like the examples you gave at the end of the video. Thank you Brandon you are truly a blessing. I ran across your channel a few times. And today I was watching your video about the meaning of 10 words that will change your understanding of the Bible. I didnt get to finish it. But i did get to the part where you were describing the 3 types of love. Eros phyllo and agape. Now I will say that I am leary of people who speak of God on RU-vid. I question the motivation behind it. Ex: does the person really believe this and if so are they correct?. Or are they doing this to make money like the preachers who own multiple jets and seven mansions never having a positive impact on anyone's life but their own. I do not doubt God. Just people. And I have asked God to help me determine the difference between sincere people and the greedy ones. This evening I got into a discussion with another you tuber on a totally unrelated topic as far as religion goes. Until today I never heard the term agape before. Let alone what it meant. But the youtubers handle was agape light. And we even came around to asking each other about the handles we are using. Mine refers to science because I love space. And I told them what I thought theirs meant using your definition of it. God's unconditional love. And they confirmed it did mean that. I know sometimes God will answer a prayer in a way that is unexpected. And I have heard more than once in my life time that if you hear something twice from too unrelated sources it tend to be true. Now I cant say for sure if that was God's answer on you being a sincere person in God or not or if it was just a coincidence. But you have my attention. Please do not take this as a mean comment because its not meant to be at all. I just try very heard not to be fooled into believing something that is not true. Especially when it comes to God. But I seriously hope you are one that is sincere. And I seriously hope you pray for wisdom and the right words and then let God do his thing through you without selfish motivations. But I have to say the fact that the term agape coming up twice in one day in my life outside of a religious gathering seriously has me leaning to not a coincidence. And I am still not sure what to make if it. Lol.
These are great pointers--Thanks! I was stuck for a long time. Then I just decided, "God told us to pray, so I will" so I just did it and didn't worry about feeling I had connected or about whether the prayer was answered as I wished. Now my issue is that I can't feel the depths of gratitude I should because God has given me so many wonderful blessings. When Christians hit a "dry spell" no matter how long it lasts, they should just soldier on. I think it is part of the process whereby God grows us up.
@Brandon I pray all the time something's answered somethings won't be it's ok with me I pray when I ask for things, thank God for anything that happens or something I received or lessons I learned or for the beauty of the day or night I thank God that I breath that I'm a live or I even pray for the living and the dead I pray for people or even animals I really pray a lot!
See I've come to an understanding then not all my prayers are going to get answered the ones that are I'm blessed the ones that weren't either God feels I'm not ready for or thinks I don't deserve and that's why I'm okay with the fact that some of my prayers will be answered and some of them won't it's an understanding that I know that if it's God's will it will be done!
1) Pray with EYES open - this allows us to focus and cut out thoughts from distracting. 2) Pray the Scriptures, which requires you to have your eyes open, pray the Psalms which will prime you to pray specifically out of which the Psalm prompted. 3) Pray with others, wherever 2 or 3 gather together, there is God - the Holy Spirit works in us and through others to benefit us. 4) Pray in nature - look at God's creation, we see the earth and see His invisible qualities - the heavens proclaim the glory of God - they pour forth speech. In nature we consider all that God created, and to remember that He created us in His image. 5) Pray like a Conqueror - David ends his Psalms with confidence.....I will declare Your name to the congregation with authority. AMEN

Praying Scripture has been very good for my prayer life. I like your encouragement to declare and think this confidence is appropriate for things God has promised ( i.e. "I declare I will not fear for You are with me."), however I don't understand how it is appropriate to declare God is going to do something He hasn't promised to do.(i.e. "I declare that God will make it rain today." Can you explain this?

Prayer is as easy as breathing. Because, your every thought is a prayer! GOD isn't stupid, and there's no secret formula. But there are some things that are indeed important to know... GOD's prophet, the prophesied return of Elijah, speaks: In the New Testament Yeshua One with Christ ("Jesus Christ") tells you how to pray. However, there's a problem. The Aramaic language that Jesus spoke had no provision for TENSE, which had to be understood from the context - which isn't always obvious. And translators missed the mark widely. Because, the Lord's Prayer is a present-tense prayer of AFFIRMATION, and NOT a future-tense prayer of supplication! Jesus is telling you to pray in affirmation that GOD is all-powerful and therefore His Will IS done on Earth as it is in Heaven! And so, you don't have to ask for that, or anything else! Are not even the lilies of the field clothed better than Solomon in all of his glory? GOD IS IN TOTAL CONTROL! And affirming THAT is what FAITH is! Do you think that YOUR will is done rather than GOD's Will? EVER? Do you think that satan's will is done rather than GOD's Will? EVER? That is a lack of faith, caused by ignorance. If you knew exactly what GOD is, exactly what YOU are, and exactly why you are experiencing this world of LIMITATION, you would understand. But most Christians don't even understand what the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ is. And that's why I was sent. Few of you are ready for Truth, due to irrational fear. You will not desire and you will not seek that which you fear. ("Fear of the Lord" is a mistranslation of "RESPECT for the Lord" - respect for the fact that GOD IS ALL POWERFUL!) But those who are fearless enough to seek GOD (Truth) will "click" and they will find. I don't receive RU-vid comment notifications, but seekers will indeed find.

I look up to the heavens, ask Jesus to ask the Father for his will, give Thanks and Praise for the blessing of answering my request, give Thanks for all blessings knowing all things are possible, having faith, belief and loving my heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ in the beloved Son Jesus name. An eye opener for me was John 16:26 In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. 27 No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.
Of your many wonderful teachings, I find less agreement here. Open eyes distract; not that I've never done so, but I find it easier to be in God's presence when the physical is blocked out. To contradict myself: once while praying for a group of kids, there was one who needed watching so I watched him as I prayed and got insights from God into the little fellow's soul! Praying scripture? Sometimes, but mainly the Lord's Prayer and insights gained from the phrases of it. Praying with confidence? Yes! It should go without saying! We are to come boldly to Him. Did you mention praying in the Holy Spirit? We don't need to jabber incoherently! Just ask His help and pray as He leads. [I've never caught on to the incoherent jabber, but I did experience translation of someone else's... what a surprise! ...what a blessing!] My prayers are conversational... after all, I'm talking to my Father; my prayers usually include a chuckle as the Lord points out some inconsistency I should have known! ~ Pray more; our Model, our Lord prayed often and said He could do nothing that He did not see His Father doing! ~ Blessings!
I agree with him. I learned this many years ago from reading a book the Disiple. When we open our eyes we are able to see the greatness of what He has done.

I don’t struggle “talking” to ANYONE i love... and I don’t struggle talking to God. Like Jesus in the Garden, I can repeat myself & return as often as I need or want to. I can ask others to pray. {But like Jesus - I ultimately want what God wants} And at times I have begged & pleaded. But I talk to God because HE ALLOWS ME TO‼️ any time, no appointment, for as long as I want. God is not some poor old granny in a rocking chair on the front porch of the nursing home - wishing some of his family would remember him & toss a few seconds of attention His way. God doesn’t need it... But He allows it...what a luxury! Some people like to brag, “I call my mom every night.” I’m not praying for bragging rights. I have something to say. & 99% of the time the first 3 words of all my sentences begin with, “Thank You For.....” as i have rambled here - I ramble to God. That’s how it is 🤷🏻♀️
Good point, thanks is extremely important. We need to learn to learn to recognize answered prayers, and thank God for them. Often He gives us what we asked and we take it for granted. There are myriads of things to be thankful for all the time.
You're right, Brandon The name of Jesus is not some magic word that makes our prayers come true. Jesus gave US the authority over our circumstances. He gave US the power to rebuke demons. He gave US the power to speak things as if they were and call down from heaven for things to be... like they are in heaven. "May Your will be done ON EARTH as it is in heaven".
