Funny thing is that the male praying mantises are way smaller than females and after mating the females eat the males. Females are so big that some of them can’t even use their wings to fly. Pretty sure its also safe to assume the one fighting the lizard is a female due to its sheer size.

In the original, the lizard isn’t simply standing there allowing himself to be nommed, someone with a green glove trying to blend into the background is holding the back end of the lizard down so the mantis could catch it and use its full force to bite it. They even make a comment like “the lizard is paralyzed in fear”.

No one is holding the lizard.

@@dandcc9192 Same lizard, but two different attacks poorly edited together. After it's released, it circles around a different section of the tree and tries to ambush the mantis. The mantis instead catches it a second time and snaps it's neck (that part was cut out).

No it’s because the lizard is paralyzed from the claws of the mantis stabbing into its skin it’s basically like getting a shot but to a lizard so the mantis has its time To attack

Ghosted Ant a mantis does not ‘paralyse’ it’s prey. It’s simply holds on and a lizard is MUCH stronger so it would have escaped if it wasn’t for that person holding it down. Try not to spread fake facts. Mantids are insectivores and are SUPPOSED to eat INSECTS. These are UNHEALTHY for it and are all forced by disgusting individuals.

At one point you could barely see a hand on the left side purposely holding the lizard to the mantis to be eaten...Its actually a bit fucked up, they didn't want to spend time filming naturally and staged it.

The lizard struck first. The mantis lunged out after the lizard tried to stick its tongue on mantis face. Also read that the clip was taken from a feeding video of a human deliberately holding onto the lizard in front of the mantis to provoke the mantis into attacking.

It is possible, however don’t be so sure of yourself. Mantids are able to catch and eat humming birds which are oftenly bigger than them. This lizard was very small. I doubt it.

@@Coolwhip-ro5mg thank you for reminding me. i will try to explain my logic: 1. To my eyes, the lizard was way bigger than the the mantis. Humming birds may look bigger than they actually are because of the feather, but the lizard size here was pure, at least 3x bigger than the MT. 2. You will easily notice that LZ had the MT's head in its mouth with the tongue attack. If it wasnt (not sure) drugged, MT died (in 1 move). 3. With the LZ struggling to escape what holding it, i can tell the strength of it overwhelmed the MT's (also, i used to catch both with similar size by bare hands). 4. I have watched the original Yt video contents this scene. "The hunter have become the prey" was what they told. That announce me in the nature Lzs eat MTs for Food, not just fight to survive. Thus, a Lz should not lose to a mantis, not that way. P/s: i used to get excited seeing this scene, but since i no the truth, it has become a cheap, fake drama to me.
