Firefighters arrived on scene of a 1 story (presumably vacant) Single Family Dwelling with moderate smoke showing, explosions were heard throughout the home before Engine 102 made entry, a knockdown was declared after about 20 minutes
Why doesn't LAFD Equip their Engines with hose Reels like LA County FD and Long Beach FD do. I would think that they would be pretty convenient for small outside fires and Rubbish fires especially more so with the homeless situation we have here.
@@shamalama29 the ladder company is a toolbox on wheels and there is better access for tools and ground ladders in this situation,however because this a private dwelling its not quite as important as lets say a multible dwelling or a building with more floors.
It's moronic that they have to carry their air packs in compartments, while every other FD in the US has them mounted in the seats... California...SMH.
It’s for safety and I’d hardly call that moronic. It’s so the guys keep their seat belts on while responding, instead of chancing it and taking them off to don their packs.
And yes, clean cab is a new way of thinking but that also encompasses keeping the turnouts out of the cab or having the ability to completely exchange turnouts after every fire incident to keep carcinogens out of the cab.
