Early Sunday morning, Lehigh County Fire Radio transmitted the box for an apartment building fire at 5 Jordan Drive. Police arrived and reported an active fire on a balcony of an occupied multiple dwelling.
Police officers used numerous extinguishers to stop the fire before the F.D. arrived.
Fire command added an additional truck and F.A.S.T. company to the box. First-due Engine 2 stretched a trash line. However, 3 minutes past and the Motor Pump Operator still didn't wet the line.
Engine 3 arrived 2nd and stretched a hand-line. Seconds later the fire was out. Three hand lines were stretched with one in operation. Crews checked for extension. The fire did not extend into the roof.

It's quite possible they were already at the apartment for another call when they noticed the fire. They were the ones that called it in no doubt at that time of day. As for where the fire started, I find that highly suspicious.

Please give the firefighters proper training All education from fire behavior to operate technical equipment and understanding building constructions would be neccassary for this departement Basic quality training courses must be implementead in the organization with short and longterms goal in each areas Lack of experience and knowledge is nothing we want in the departments It's dangerous for all involved people and specially for the firefighters When will we learn more about methods, fire technology and tactical procedures that we see from other fire departements around the world There have been developments in many areas that we handle but sometimes I have the feeling that we do not follow or see that "We do what we always have done" Sometimes we need to act directly to reach the goal. Here we can improve Time to change our view and look forward

This was a very frustrating video to watch, even at the beginning of the cups I just used a couple buckets of water instead of the chemical fire extinguisher it would’ve been out instantly, anyone could’ve grabbed a garden hose and it would be out instantly, instead we wait for the fire department to get there which takes forever, then when they do get there they just run around in circles and still don’t put any water on the fire waiting for it to get bigger🤦‍♂️ I have seen fire department show up to fully engulfed houses and get water on it almost immediately and almost instantly knock It down without even using a fire hydrant, just the water in the tank

I was wondering the same thing. I looked on google street view, and there are no obvious electrical lines there. My father once went out for a kitchen fire. It was odd because the fire was on the windowsill, and hadn't spread inside the actual kitchen! There were no electrical wires in that area. Turns out later on, the upstairs tenant admitted to tossing a cigarette butt outside, earlier in the day. It must have landed on the windowsill and smoldered for HOURS (!) before it gained speed and was noticed!!!!!!!!

That would be my question... it doesn't take any time to put the truck into pump gear... go to front of the truck and assist with the stretch... and then duck back to the pump panel to pull that valve open, dial up the pressure, and then worry about handjacking the 5 inch to the near hydrant for a supply.
@Cthippo1

@@gwenshadowcat2978 Completely agree. They did decide to move the engine after they pulled the hose, but still, that took forever. Also, not sure what size tanks they have, but I wouldn't have even worried about getting a water supply for that fire.

You can hear smoke alarms from the apartments, but all the fire seems to be limited to that support beam. (How in the world would there ONLY be a fire in that area? The only thing I can think of that could possibly be electrified is a satellite dish.) Couldn’t they use one of those heat detectors to see if there is more fire without tearing so much up? I know it will all have to be replaced to complete repairs, but why more than necessary?
