The low rebuy costs also means a very low transport cost... So if you are in a system flying another ship, you can very cheaply transport this ship to your location. That will even work if you are in Colonia from time to time..
I quite like the way they configured this, only things Id change is add some mine launchers and a docking computer. This ship always gets stuck in the mailslot!
I hate that it does not have the auto docking computer, I'd have to add that. I can land fine, but after so many years and tens of thousands of manual landing IU do not need to land manually. I certainly do not base my manhood on not having a docking computer like some commanders lol.
i’ve always been confused about the docking computer. supercruise autopilot makes more sense to me. supercruise takes up most of our gameplay time with about as much fun as your average loading screen. landing takes 15 seconds manually, or possibly 2 whole minutes of waiting in queue with autopilot. this is coming from someone who flies a shieldless type-10 with no armor mods, and still hasnt had anything more than a minor scrape on landing. just seems wasteful when you could be removing the staring-contest-simulator that is supercruise
Its so crazy that it takes a module slot to auto dock. Really turns me off if I'm being honest. Kills the suspension of disbelief and pulls me right out of my immersion when I think about it. My car can park itself today, and that functionality comes standard not as some addon that I have to physically install in my trunk. Same goes for SCA. Should be built into the ships nav systems, no slots required.
I hope there will be a combat variant of this ship, just more medium gun placements and one large, but that's just me wanting a huge combat capable ship that's not locked by faction rank. Will still probably get it to try passenger transportation
@@coolingfan you ever hear that ATC recording where the tower tells a plane that it has jets flying overhead and the pilot says "too close switching to guns"🤣
For beginners I recommend it because it saves time in engineering, the configuration is good. But for veterans like me it is not very useful, we already have all that but better... But I bought one. It is not made for combat, you will lose every time. So you do not need weapons or defense systems that consume energy and reduce the jump distance, you will gain a few light years... On the other hand, you must add an automatic docking computer, very useful with a large ship. So it is a good way for beginners to earn money with tourist transport missions without wasting time in engineering. o7
It seems to me, that all you really pay for is the kit and paint. Everything else (except for FSD) is stock. If they really wanted to give people, who don't have time to grind, a head start, they should engineer everything. THAT would be worth paying for! Imagine not having to go through the grind to unlock the engineers. Use the most common upgrades, and you're all set. Sure, the ship itself and the modules cost credits, but that's not so hard to get, is it!?
@@RicardosGaming Yeah, that can obviously be pretty nice. Still... Imagine NOT having to unlock those engineers. Some of them are a real pain to get access to.
@@RicardosGaming Even with a bit of module changing, rebuy is still ridiculously low on my T-8 Stellaris and it's cheaper to have it transported than my in-game purchased Keelback. I'll probably end up getting almost all of them at some point. After getti g heavily into the 4-digits with Star Citizen, this is just change. Pre-built ships are actually much better value than other simple in-game cosmetics that sometimes cost even more.
No it is not worth the money. None of these pre-built ships are worth real money. The jump range is atrocious. Why would anyone actually pay for this? Unless you're going for a combat build, you do not need weapons on this ship. It looks like FDev just threw a load of modules in there because "Give us money." This is just another example of them half assing a ship because they expect people to not know any better. And this whole thing makes me sick. You're literally only paying for the paint job and/or the ship kit on these pre-built ships. Both of which could be sold separately. It's praying on ignorance of people who haven't been playing the game for longer than like... an hour. And if they have, they'll know better. Elite is getting rather greedy in its old age. Considering the vast majority of the core gameplay loop is earning credits to be able to buy something like this for youself, and actually feel proud of doing so... this whole pre-built nonsense, and the whole early access shenanigans is just mobile gaming suffocating what Elite is. And it's really kind of sad. Rather than content, we get the whole "Cash shop mentality" because it's just easier. The folly of all dead and dying MMOs.
What? So it's like really useful for beginners and a nice to have for veteran players? Sounds good to me. And why you encouraging FDev to sell Meta ships? Why?
@@WaveEchos Um, I think you missed the point of my comment slightly. I'm not encouraging FDev to sell ANY ships at all. I think the whole idea of it goes against the whole point of the game. Moreso than other games, because they, at least, have some kind of narrative structure. Not to mention the ability of the pilot in Elite far outweighs the specifications of the ships, so meta doesn't really apply. If you're a veteran player, you can literally go buy a Beluga and outfit it properly. All you're paying for is the paintjob. Which could be sold separately (but isn't because then you won't buy the pre-built ship, obviously). It's marketing 101. You buy something you don't need to get something you want but can't get any other way. As for beginner players, I don't exactly see how it's useful. It's skipping a lot of the progression of the game. Namely earning the credits to buy the ships, and learning how to fly and outfit ships along the way. You're giving people fish instead of teaching them how to fish. And just like the proverb, it will feed people for a day. Until they realise once they have these pre-built ships, part of the reason to play the game becomes redundant. And they quit. Again, moreso in Elite than other games because the a huge portion of the gameplay and progression loop consists of earning money to buy things to earn more money to buy more things. That's it's raison d'être. Cutting chunks of that out isn't helping players. It's cutting their experience short, In my opinion, and should be discouraged.
Please don't waste your time with this game, nothing good will come out of it. Freelancer, a game that came out 20 years ago, had more content than Elite ever will.
