So technically pre-health pathway to advance diplomas and degrees is for the students who wants to take a bachelor/ 3-4 years of study depending on course and Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Certificates and diplomas is only for programs that will take only 2-3 years depending on the course, please correct me if I’m wrong. As, well as for the practical nursing if i do have a missing requirement I dont need to take this course but I can only take some classes for Academic Upgrade, which I believe everyone colleges offers it for the students who are only missing few courses?
You got it. The pre-health programs can give you the courses you are missing and help you get a better mark to get into the program you are looking for.
Hello, Thank you for your time putting this video out there! I'm an international student and I want to apply for the Winter intake of 2023. I'm done with my BSc major in Geophysics. I want to ask if I may apply to Practical Nursing or Pre-health Science?
You can apply to both but both programs are closed for International students for the January intake. You will have to look at another intake. I would suggest keep checking our website to make sure you don't miss the next one. www.conestogac.on.ca/admissions/applying-to-conestoga
Hi I have background in business management diploma but in high school I also have physical education. Is I am eligible to take pre-health and science courses? In short I want to know is there any entrance required to take pre-health and science course because I am from commerce background.

We are from the Philippines. Watching your video I realized that we cannot study practical nursing in Canada directly without attending the pre-health sciences course. Is this correct? My question is when the next schedule of this program would be. Thank you.
Yes, you are correct, you will have to take the Pre-health program first. We have a September and January intake but both are already closed. You will have to keep checking back to see when the September one will open again. You can also email InternationalAdmissions@conestogac.on.ca to see when it might open.
Hi, thanks for the useful video. I am a Permanent Resident in Canada and I'm 40 now. Got an undergrad in Zoology with minor in Chemistry ( post grad in Management @ Scotland ) , so was looking to have a foray into RPN. However , my 12th grades weren't that great ( below 60 % , only biology I had scored 80% ) ; hence I am planning to take pre-health program. Here this video ( @ 12:25 minutes ) states that if taken pre-health program at Conestoga, then the admission office adds up additional 15 % ( 10 + 5 ) on successful completion of the course. I was wondering if that extra 15% is added with the pre-health results ( on completion ) or that 15% is added with student's actual existing 12th grade score ? If you can kindly clear this cloud in my mind, shall be very much obliged. As after talking to a few people, I realize that to assure a seat at RPN , one needs at least 80% in pre-health science program. In that case if that additional 15 % marks are added with 12th grade, that will still not qualify me for RPN program anywhere in Ontario. Can you please let me know if one scores really good at pre-health science program, if that would maximize chances getting into RPN program ( or will the previous 12th grade marks will come into play ? ) ? Typically scoring what grades/ marks in pre-health according to past few years' trends can get one a greater standing to have admission at RPN ? Lastly, but not least, if one completed pre-science from Conestoga, can the person apply to any other colleges in Ontrario for related health programs ( diploma ) or is it only college / institution specific ? Shall be really grateful if you can help me understand the procedure. 🙂
You have a lot of specific questions and I would suggest reaching out to our admissions team directly at admissions@conestogac.on.ca. And yes, if you take our pre-health sciences you can apply to other college programs upon completion. I would double check with the institution that you are looking at applying to that will recognize our pre-health program (just to be safe).
Hi there, for information on the admission requirements for these programs please visit the links below: www.conestogac.on.ca/fulltime/pre-health-sciences-pathway-to-certificates-and-diplomas/admissions and www.conestogac.on.ca/fulltime/pre-health-sciences-pathway-to-advanced-diplomas-and-degrees/admissions
The pre-health is a one year program that acts as a pathway into a two or three year diploma or a bachelor's degree (depending on which pre-health program you take).

Hello Sir, i want to apply in prehealth science pathway advanced diploma to degree but i got prehealth science pathway certificate to diploma. Is there any chance to change the program after reaching there?
Hey i want to do practical nursing but i don't have mathematics. so should i take prehealth sciences pathway to certificate and diploma? After clearing this course in which college i can apply for practical nursing?(will conestoga accept me?) Or i will need mathematics also? And which intake is available for this program for international student?
Yes, if you're missing math and you want to get into Practical Nursing, the Pre-health Sciences pathway to certificates and diplomas is the course you want to take. It will give you the admission requirements you need to apply to the PN. It is a highly competitive program. We have a September and a January intake for the program but both are closed to international students. You can contact InternationalAdmissions@conestogac.on.ca for more information and keep checking to apply to another intake.
Is iteasy to get admission in nursing after the completion of pre health course Can you please tell more about the course... And is it easy to learn this course
The Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Certificates and Diplomas is good pathway into the Practical Nursing diploma. It can help gain entry if you didn't take the right required subjects or your marks weren't high enough to get in. Nursing is NOT easy to get into. Nursing is one of our more popular programs. I can't say if it's easy for you to learn, it's all up the individual learner. I would suggest looking at the courses offered in the program to see if it would be a good fit for you.
I just got an email saying I got into this program instead of practical nurse. I don’t know why I didn’t get into the program because I have all the credits needed the only thing that was still pending on my application was “ossd” my other 2 school has accepted me to practical nursing . Any ideas on what to do
Hi Ashae. I don't have access to your records so I don't know why you didn't get in. I'm assuming that if you took all the required courses and still didn't get in, it might be because the average of your required courses is too low. You can either accept your offer with the other colleges or take the pre-health with Conestoga. Practical Nursing is one of our more popular programs. I would suggest reaching to the Claudia (contact info in the video above) and she can answer any questions you might have about pre-health.

Hello sir/ma'am, I'm an international student from Nigeria, I got an offer for pre health science pathways to certificate and diploma but was given biotech as future eligible course whereas I applied for practical nursing. I would like to know if biotech is the only course I can use the pre health program for or I can as well use it to apply for practical nursing after completion. Thanks
You can apply to Biotech as well Practical Nursing, Fitness & Health Promotion, Hearing Instrument Specialist, Nutrition and Food Service Management, OTA/PTA and PSW.
The pre-health sciences pathway to certificates and diplomas is still open for Sept 2023 and you can apply as long as you meet the admission requirements: www.conestogac.on.ca/fulltime/pre-health-sciences-pathway-to-certificates-and-diplomas/admissions?id=26666. As for visa chances, you will have to contact our International office at InternationalAdmissions@conestogac.on.ca.
Being an international student, I’ve enrolled myself for Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Certificates and Diplomas…After completion, can I get into the Practical Nursing Program?
You are taking the correct program as a pathway to Practical Nursing. Practical Nursing is a highly competitive program and you will still have to apply and meet the current admissions cutoffs in order to get in after completing the pre-health program.
Hello sir/ma'am i am an international student from India .i completed my graduation from science stream with physics chemistry biology subjects i want nursing in conestoga college but I haven't a maths in my graduation so i need to do 1 year Pre health sciences pathway to advance and degree. Am i right??? After completing this course can I ELLIGIBLE FOR bachelor degree or a practical nursing??? Please reply me as soon as possible. Thank you so much
Yes but this program is meant to be a stepping stone into other health science programs. It's meant for students who didn't have the right requirements to get into a program, didn't have high enough marks to get in or aren't sure which program to go into. To be eligible for the Post-graduation work permit (PGWP), “students have completed an academic, vocational or professional training program at an eligible institution in Canada that is at least 8 months in duration leading to a degree, diploma or certificate.” For more PGWP eligibility requirements information, please click here: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/study-permits/post-graduation-work-permit-program/eligibility.html A PGWP may be issued based on the length of study program. If the student program is two years or more, they will likely get a three-year PGWP. Again, the final decision is always at the discretion of the visa officer.
Heyy... I had completed my bachelor of physiotherapy . Now i want to get my self enrolled in health care management.. So for that do i need to do pre health Science (a post secondary course)... Plzz help me

Hi, I want to do psychology in universities but don't have the requirements satisfied right now. I wanted to know if I could transfer credits from college to university after one year of completion of the pre-health sciences pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees and start 2nd year in university. Is that possible?
It depends on what the prerequisites are for the university you are considering. Check the with university first. You may want to consider our 2 year General Arts and Science diploma as a stepping stone to university. This two-year diploma program is designed for students who wish to acquire a general education in the arts and sciences while having the flexibility to explore further educational options within the college or to pursue a degree at a local university. Students will acquire skills in communication, critical thinking and research, while exploring contemporary issues in today’s global society. www.conestogac.on.ca/fulltime/general-arts-and-science-diploma-option
