Thanks for the inspiring video! One question: As showed here, after several seconds of pre-infusion, the water temperature suddenly rises up. Does it mean there would be temperature variation during continuous brewing?
Hi TL, Thanks for the question. Temperature is very stable during brewing. Mark did multiple demos of the pre-infusion with no PF in place so he removed a lot of extra water from the boiler which caused some swings in temperature. The demo does not reflect what happens with temperature during actual use.
Just a question : When the water tank in the vibration pump model sucks in water, does the water go into the steam boiler and THEN enter the brew boiler?
Hi Gunther, Thank you for the question. The answer is - sort of. The Brewtus IV has a heat exchanger inside the steam boiler which water for the brew boiler flows thru. The heat exchange section is isolated from water within the steam boiler.
@@Wholelattelovepage do you have to wait 30 minutes before brewing? Let's say 2000W for half an hour every morning to have 1 or 2 coffee? Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks for the lovely video.
Hi J, Best way to learn the position is to operate without a portafilter in place and observe what happens. Over-extraction is typically characterized by more bitter flavor.
How does the Brewtus IV-R preinfusion differ from the III-R, when they both rely on line pressure? Also, the E61 is a patented design, so has this part actually been changed from previous models?
+Ko Amin Samudera Hi Ko, Thanks for your question. You can in general do pre-infusion on machines with E61 group. Technique varies a bit by machine especially for those that are plumbed into a waterline and those which use a reservoir water source. In plumbed machines the waterline pressure helps push water when pre-infusing. Expobar E61 groups are unique with the extra chamber milled into the group above the shower screen.
this is much better channel and info than seattle coffee gear that is all about thinking they are cool but they provided zero useful information for someone who wants more advanced technical and detailed info....Whole Latte Love is much better! pity your name is not very focused and doesn't have a COFFEE in it.....
+ty hockstaff Misleading in what way? He never says other machines with E61 can not pre-infuse, so a little confused in what is misleading. There is a difference in pre-infusion based on whether a machine is plumbed to line pressure or using a reservoir water source. Also a difference in rotary pump vs. vibration pump. Some users prefer vibration pump machines because they build up pressure more slowly than a rotary pump machine. They consider the slow pressure build-up as a type of pre-infusion. Even on a rotary pump Brewtus the extra chamber in the Expobar E61's softens the pressure build at the start of an extraction for a form of pre-infusion.
That's right, they all can. The Brewtus 4 has an extra chamber which supposedly makes for better infusion. Gimmick? Maybe. That and the extra steam boiler on/off switch are the only differences between the model 3 and 4, as far as I know. Oh and the PID display has blue digits now.
