“I go dormant, just like the grass do”🤣 Man never thought I’d say the same till I had my first kid this past year. The break was nice, but it’s go time now!!
I'm glad to be back. Thank you for checking in with me and the channel. Its going to be a great year in the lawn. Hope all is well with you and your family
Thank you LA for all your advice. I’m up in upstate NY bro. I decided to let go of my landscaping company as of may 2024 and decided to cut and take care of of my own lawn. I’m still using them to do the fall & spring clean up as I have way to many trees to do the clean up on my own. My lawn has a lot of thatch, I want to dethatch and seed. Can you give us a 1 video breaking down what your steps are for dethatch, seeding, starter fertilizer, pre emergent for us folks in the NY (north east) area?
My man Darryl! Always the greenest grass on the block, doing the work and enjoying the results. Here's to a great 2024 season hoping for more timely rains last year's drought was tough on the turn. Looks like a fence project in your future 🙂
Thank you for tuning back in another season. I'm currently working on the fence now tryna get it together. It was a rough winter on the fence so now its time for a yard clean up
Grass looks solid. The fence is just cosmetic. You definitely have the grass under control. The lawn was the hard part that you have figured that out. No doubt you will fix the fence. Kudos to you.
Thank you I'm definitely working hard trying to get this fence done. I appreciate you supporting the channel and me. Again Thank you very much. It should be a good year
your "problem spots" are from erosion. You can see where the rain water flow on the sides of the house are. You might want to add gutter extenders to redirect the water
yea... I chose a stain that was too dark when I did it.. should have chose 'honey'.. thats the color name I was showed that brightens natural wood and makes it pop..
Fairly new sub here,(also a lawn amateur) I Like your videos. As far as the fence goes. After you repair it, just paint it, it'll be a lot easier and you'll save you a whole lot of time IMO. The lawn looks pretty good for just coming out of winter. I also have a shady area in the back of my house as well, can't grow nothing back there except moss and weeds, but i'm working on it. I'm in the northeast (Mass.) as well. Low 40s here nights in the low 30s, so still early for pre emergent, but thanks for reminding me. I got get my blades sharpened and get the mower tuned up and ready to go as well. Keep the videos coming!
Thats what I was thinking about just repainting the fix but I also love the natural wood stain looked fences. But you said the key word and that was save money 🤣🤣 I sure love to do that. Same here in Connecticut temps are up and down we caught some good days of high 60s then boom right back in the 30s to 40 range. So I really can't do much to the lawn for now but game plan. Thank you for subbing and I truly appreciate your support
My Kentucky Bluegrass has already been kicking here in Tennessee cause we do warm up faster than the north so I already got like 3 or 4 mows in and already put down pre emergents, fertilizer, and soil amendments
@@LawnAmateur yeah the transition zone kicks off early weed were already germinating in the last week of February and grass had took off to so I knew it was time to go to work especially before May we start normally getting summer temps in May we easily hit the 90's and low 100's in our temp's and the humidity makes it worse
I kept checking waiting to see when you were gonna drop a new video. I know it’s almost time to get out in the yard. I’m on the east coast so temps here are still down during the day and night. Just waiting until then. I’m ordering all supplies and tools needed for the season right now while I wait for the temps to start going up. Glad your back
Oh yea this north east weather is so tricky a week ago we had high 60s then right back down to the 30s smh but you got the right plan gather all your needs now so you'll be ready to get busy. Thank you for tuning back in
I have three yards. Front, middle and backyard. The front and backyard always come out of winter in nice shape. My problem is the middle yard. Theres this black lab 🐕🐕 that destroys it in early spring when the yard is wet. I spend the growing season fixing that yard only to do it all over again the following year.
good to see you again for 2024 friend..I tried products you use.. some I already used.. love experimenting every year... but you better than me with that fence😁... id b calling a fence company😂.... the house we sold I paid @8k here in ga for the backyard.. and we had @3/4 acre.. that was in 2015.... now it might be close to 12k... who knows....
@@LawnAmateur .. you welcome.. and I enjoy your channel.. yea for the backyard... and it was bigger than yours.. it was @8k then... wasnt a bargain to me back then😂... but we got a loan and did it.... your area... and size yard.. what you think 12-15k?... man thats a lot... too me.. but if you do all that yourself... film it and let youtube help.. you got the subs... good luck..
Hey Lawn amateur. Subbed maybe 2 weeks ago. Wish I found you sooner. Thank you for sharing what it looks like in the beginning. Shout out from NE Illinois
‘Guess who’s bizack!!’ Welcome back LA aka what the games been missing 😂 Im all for anything regarding the fence thats cost effective whether it be stripped or repainted but you better hurry Memorial Day is around the corner dont wanna be behind for party season also can’t wait to see how the back turns out with more sun as always #tunedin
Talk to me Man, its ya boy Young Hova lol. Yea I'm racing against the clock to get the backyard ready for my annual cookout gathering. Hopefully the fence can be painted or stain by then to give the better yard appeal. Thanks for tuning back in
Hi I stumbled on to this channel right on time! I just subscribed and am looking forward to following you to improve my yard. I am also in the east coast and right now my yard is more weeds than grass and have a lot of bare spots. Do you suggest seeding or weeding first.
Hi and thank you for subscribing. I would suggest weeding right now to start to get those weeds under control and then you can start seeding in mid April when temps warm up and are a little more consistent
I'm dealing with a naked front yard this season. Had to cut down a 30 foot silver maple. Could not dethatch to a family issue in the fall. Think I am going to fertilize and do weed control this spring.
If you already seeded you would have to wait until the grass fully establish itself before putting any weed control down. That'll be atleast 45 days or until you can mow the lawn 3x. I hope this help thank you for your support 🙏🏾
Your advice on lawns are excellent love em, but man you need to do something with that fence. Looks like you’re trying to revive something that’s dead. Nothing to do with being cheap or being a diy, the fence looks like it’s decaying what I see are two options take it all down or get all new material and install new. Your fence is the first thing someone sees when looking at your property or house. Not trying to embarrass you just some common sense advice you’re putting some hard work into accomplishing nothing. Still love your vids 👍👍
The fence is fine I'll just repair it. No need to take the whole thing down. Thats not totally necessary just minor repairs and it'll be fine. The real damage came from a tree that was in that back corner that is gone now so the fence will be fine going forward thanks for the advice
