I knew the piped piece was a gas lamp part as soon as I saw it. I grew up in a 1800s tenement house, here in 🇺🇸, and although the gas lamps were no longer used, the lamp hardware was left in place throughout our building. We moved there in 1956. And left there in 1972. Lots of beautiful Victorian features that we lived with … fireplaces, ornate ceiling lights, and until 1960, we used a coal stove to cook and had no heat in the winter! And we had a dumbwaiter! 💕👏🏻🇺🇸

Thanks to all of you wonderful ladies for taking the time to video this amazing hobby so that I can visit the Thames once more from here in America! In 1620, my ancestors came to the New World aboard the ship Mayflower, and knowing this has sparked my lifelong love of both history, and adventure! My husband and I are old now, and unable to travel. But we have been spending some very enjoyable hours these days by viewing your “finds”, and happily remembering the wonderful times we have had visiting England in years past. Thank you so much! You should buy Monica one of those umbrella hats! That way she has both hands free, and will still have a shaded head. If you haven't seen these before, you can find them on line. But, they usually sell them at touristy places. What a wonderful birthday of finds you both had!

I had an ‘I am Brett’ moment watching this video - I heard Monika say she’d found a piece of cheese and then the term ‘decklite’. I immediately Googled it, thinking “wow, I had no idea fossilised cheese turns into these clear ‘decklites’! What an incredible find!” 😂

Happy Birthday, Monica! So many lovely treasures that you both found. The bead that Monica found and the button that you found Nicola are definitely the highlights for me. The pipes are always nice to see as well. When you first started to unearth the gas lamp, I thought it was a big hook of some kind. I thought it would look great beside one of your glass fish. The fish could be looking at it, but of course way too smart to actually bite it. A great outing that cheered up my Sunday chores day.

Before i watch this video i would like to say my "I am Brett" Tshirt happens to be one of the greatest events known to humanity 🙂 far better than the discovery of penicillin, far more important than the splitting of the atom, t'is akin to schrodingers tshirt, nobody knows if i'm alive in it, but what i do know is that when i am in it, i am transported to another dimension, far from sound and light, i feel i'm in the 'Brett dimension' 😀 t'is a true thing of wonderment and joy 🙂
