This is my only monetized video out of the last bunch. If you could share and like the crap out of this video it would mean a lot to us! Appreciate everyone 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Just did the Patreon thing. I really like the scope cam footage. A lot of the rimfire channels leave me questioning the shooter's ability. That scope cam does a great job of showing the hold.
Hey Josh I have forgotten that result already . I know you shoot your CZ lights out , I expected the Vudoo to be more accurate than that at distance , the CZ is still my favourite they shoot fine at distance also from my experience with my 455 , great video thanks mate . Steve .
Seems like the Voodoo is not only overpriced but a little bit overestimated also. Marketing is matketing ANSHUTZ 64 MPR from the stock would do the job better. Boys from CZ are pupils of ANSHUTZ
I find I watch your wind flags as much as your shots, the more I shoot, the more I am a student of reading wind, especially when you get in the 300 yard + range, awesome video Josh
Excellent info as usual. I must look into your theory on the speed affects on the Bullets. As it happens my Vudoo loves RWS R50 which is screaming out on it at 1133fps Looking forward to seeing the Vudoo once you have the lot testing done. Keep up the good work
@@PursuitofAccuracy Just want to throw something out there - If you were ever looking for any copyright free music I would love to try to contribute to your channel. Play multiple instruments across multiple genres of music would be willing to make stuff specifically for the channel at absolutely no charge. Cheers 🍻
@@johnpawlowski804 Based on watching many of Josh's livestreams hes mentioned many times that he enjoys the production aspect of the videos and since it would be redundant to provide video content explaining firearms although I am a 12 year active naval sensor operator / firecontrol supervisor, I've also been a part time musician my entire life and figured I would contribute in a meaningful way to this channel that I love so much. You're right most people probably don't watch this channel for the music, But what is the harm in offering free music that would be unique and potentially improve the quality of production of the channel? Happy Wednesday 😊
It's your fault Josh...... trading my 452 and have just ordered a 457 LRP Mk2 ..... now to see what it likes to eat... I have narrowed it down to around 5 of what lies on your scoreboard.. Eley Match, RWS R50, SK Long Range, SK Rifle Match & SK Std Plus, hopefully one of those will do the job. Thanks so much, just waiting on my variation now so I can collect it....
Great informative video ! Love the scope cam, target cam and ammo photo in addition to you shooting. I’m amazed how steady your holds are …. You are machine. After reading other’s comments, I think I need to add an inch or so to my butt length for more consistent / comfortable shoulder contact.
Great video. Yes the scope cam shots are really informative and show how steady Josh holds. I need to work on getting as steady as that or close to it.
While I appreciate and enjoy the content, it's nearly useless to compare anything .22LR related. My shooting friends and I typically shoot groups at 50 and 100 and from group to group, you may see as much as a 1/2" difference at 100 yards. It's just the nature of the beast when it comes to .22s.
nice job josh. i got some black box from champions choice for pretty good price brick and case. don't know if they have your lot but they have a good amount.
I’ve been considering using BallisticX. Do you trust it to give good data? The Vudoo was sub MOA and the CZ was just sub MOA. It’s hard with the weather change, you’re cold, so you’re more tense. The jacket you’re wearing could change your Length of Pull. You need to check that. It went from summer to winter here in less than a week. I was so agitated that I haven’t shot for several days. I’m still adjusting my attitude so I can relax behind the gun again. Going from 90’s to the 40’s in a few days, it’s hard dude. I would be happy with either of those groups. Thanks awesome shooting.
I have viewed all of your videos. I need an accurate 22 for 50 yards and less (Sparrow silhouettes). What would be your recommendations for gun and scope set up?
This makes me feel happy seeing the vudoo perform like that as my highly modded converted sbr 10/22 Kidd Volquartsen charger hybrid can achieve similar groups on occasion when everything is right with the cz at 150meters and dare I say at least on the selected best 5 shot group it’s better than the vudoo 😄. Just got lucky as that rig is more than ok with cci standard velocity.
Good video. I see that I'm not the only one a little disappointed at the range when I don't get the performance that I hoped for. It happens to us all. And there will be better days. I really appreciate you going thru the Lot Numbers and what they mean. It definitely helps me. By the way: at the range last week, A guy was checking out my CZ. He asked if I ever saw POA on Utube. I told him I watch it all the time! So we're reading you loud and clear hear in Missouri. Thanks for posting great videos!
Crazy accuracy on the CZ! I always wonder how will the other CZ compare with each other for example CZ 457 American. Could you please share what items are you using to keep the rifle more stable? Thanks.
Love the content! Coincidentally, was at the range today and the last bit of shooting was confirming dope at 150 yards. Ended up with a 1 5/8" group with ten rounds, so 1.04 moa. CZ 457 At One 24" with RWS Rifle Match.
Seems like an awful lot of money to pay for a firearm and then have to play with the mag. to make it feed. Is this a cronic problem or have they addressed it and came up with a fix. If i were the MFG that would not be just a tad bit embarrassing, but a huge burr under my saddle. Every channel i watch this is a hot topic.
Good evening! I just want to say thanks for the great video!! I'm currently thinking about purchasing a precision .22lr and while doing a search it had the Aunschutz and Vudoo at the top. I really don't want to spend $3000 as I'm not going to be competing and want something to use in a Remington 700 chassis so it will be a similar setup to a 300 WM/7mm but less expensive to shoot. I was wondering if you could give the details of your CZ setup, what stock it's in, your feedback on feeding and any issues you have with the CZ and how it compares to the Vudoo? What kind of trigger and any key modifications you have done or one would need to do? And what's the ballpark price? Sorry for all the questions, The CZ seems pretty legit and if I can get a solid/comparable rifle for a lot less than a Vudoo than any info you could share would be greatly appreciated. What's your take on CZ 457 vs Bergara B14 if you have any knowledge of them comparably? Thank you sir! ~Chris
This is more about doping wind than the potential accuracy of either rifle ! Would like to see you re test without wind thanks Is the barrel on the CZ stock or a Lilja ?
CZ has always been one of the best shooters ever. Pro rabbit shooters in Australia were using the Model 1 way back in the 50's . I have a model 2 . The other one to look at would be the Lithgow 101 and the Anschutz.
This was a great video! Paper targets at 150+ yards is a humbling experience. I want to burn a lot of targets at that range but I don't...I just keep working on my fundamentals. Please do more like this. I'm sure the Vudoo is a great rifle I'm not sure it's worth that premium price. Once you find that perfect lot for the Vudoo come back and do that CZ vs Vudoo over again.
A good optic is your friend, especially as we get older, you don't need a premium rifle to have fun, a Cz457 with an area419 30moa base and a good scope will have you smiling all day, grab the optics when they are on sale (like right now) saving a few hundred bucks on an optic makes me happy
The scope cam lets us see the slightly inconsistent recoil patterns too. Sometimes up and left, sometimes up and right, etc. It doesn't seem to have a significant effect on impacts?
Any identical bullet travelling faster wont ever drift more in the wind than the same bullet travelling slower, you cant defy the laws of physics, the fast something travels the less time the wind has to affect it. The Vudoo had more horizontal due to the barrels dislike of the ammo, try a barrel tuner to get the barrel better tuned to the ammo.
@@mikecook9805 they dont unless one bullet has a significantly worse BC than the other. If both bullets have a very similar weight and BC then increased velocity will always result in less wind drift, thats not my opinion thats the laws of physics.
Love the videos brother. I'm currently shooting a kidd built 10//22 & a cz455 both are great shooters here at our local matches. I will be adding the cz457 precision trainer next.
Id be first to say after playing with a few Vudoo's and comparing... their Ravage chamber is garbage. Even with lot testing, their barrel fitment and chamberings are all over the place. I ceracasted 4 vudoo chambers and see deviation over 5 thousandths in chamber depths and they can't settle on one barrel manufacturer which causes performance differences between the models
The magazine feed problems would really bother me with the vudoo. I have 2 CZ's and never a problem. Maybe 1 out of 50 magazines the last round will not feed easily needing to have the nose pushed down. I've seen a lot of discussion about magazine feed problems. As for the accuracy, that's most likely just a matter of finding what the rifle likes. I wouldn't worry too much about that but the magazine feed problems seem persistent.
The cz is much less finicky for sure. The vudoo has issues but they are easily worked out. I was careless when i loaded that mag.....but.....that would never be the case with the cz
Hey Josh, noticed in your vids you use a Titan cheek rest on your CZ. I also got a Titan for my CZ 457 Pro Varmint, but never installed it because it seems like it would prevent easy cleaning with my rod. What do you do for cleaning with that thing on?
That is exceptional marksmanship. Who would have thought that 22LR shooting can be that precise and EXPENSIVE! Wow, you have a lot of money tied up in the rifles and in the optics. I'm a plinker from way back, but I feel great hitting a 10 inch pie plate at 75 yards, fugetabout shooting one inch groups dead center. My current 22 rifle is a surplus Romanian bolt action training piece, which I bought 30 years ago from a buddy at work. Post front and peep rear, 10 round mag. It is an off hand can shooting SOG, but it would never compete with your rigs.
Both the CZ and the Vudoo's chambers are designed for Lapua/SK ammo. You should send your rifle to Lapua and they will lot test for you. Way cheaper than you doing it yourself and way more accurately tested too. You're definitely not using the full potential of either of those rifles using that Eley stuff.
@@jerrodpropeck6567 I have been to lapua with the CZ. I got a case of center x. The lilja prefers eley match im shooting over the center x I got from them. Not dogging them but the eley and rws have been slaying it this year.
@@PursuitofAccuracy when you get a new 22 do you do a barrel break in? I got a new Christensen Arms Ranger 22 and wanted to be sure I do it right if I should do a break in. If so what do you recommend.
Just plugged in some velocity changes for my Ballistics AE app. Subsonic ammo as you say has a greater wind deflection with a higher velocity. Not so he same with my centrefire. Does this only happen with subsonic speeds?🤯
I think its due to the lower bc. The bullet isnt as stable as a high bc centerfire would be. So the harder you push that projectile the less it takes to destabalize it. My theory for right now anyways 🤣🤣
thanks on info about ammo lot found best bang for buck in my cz457 at one is sk biathlon good velocity accurate only slightly larger group from the best ammo at 1/2 or less in price! I can afford to shoot a lot. Thanks for the previous ammo reviews.
I was lucky enough to shoot this week with 2 top 5 ARA Benchrest shooters (50 yards). I learned sooooo much. The ALL shoot off Sinclair F-Class Bipods with Vert adjustment screws. Minimum 40 power scopes. Many shoot with heavy Protektor rabbit ear rears. Clean after 25 shots. No pressure on the shoulder and no pressure on the cheek..they make contact, but no pressure. Really enjoyed the video. Thank you
Hi Josh, Eley Tenex ammo serial numbers start with 10 , black match can be 10 but is more common to be 11 followed by the year. an old theory said match starting with a 10 was re badged Tenex. in my experience i find it hard to tell them apart if the serial starts with a 10. I have never seen Tenex start with anything but 10.
I think all of the match and tenex I have seen are 10. This is most likely because match and tenex are identical but the tenex is the more consistent lots and those that dont make tenex standards go into a match box
I’ll share the shit out of it with my buddies. I’d be pissed if I spent the money on a voodoo and them mags do that … glad I found your channel cz 457 for me I was close to pulling trigger on a voodoo no way now .. can’t way to see the new cz. Build . I have airguns that cost as much as a voodoo but they work lol
I am no expert, but to me to truly test accuracy of a rifle it must be done in a controlled environment like the lapua testing facility. There are just too many variables trying to do it at a range or out in the back yard. I would also like to see at a testing facility to emulate weather and temperature conditions. You can find a certain brand and lot# of bullets, may work fine at a 65 degrees, but if its colder or warmer this may impact the accuracy as well.
The problem with the test center is its a totally different environment than what you shoot in. Your rifle is in a fixture viced down shooting in a tunnel. Thats great for consistency but doesnt show you any real world results.....you might settle on a very fast lot in the tunnel that goes crazy in the wind vs a slower velocity bullet that doesnt react as bad to changes in wind speed and direction. Just my thought behind how i test
You have a great channel Josh, great content and informative. Just bought a CZ and putting it in a Element 4.0 chassis, fixing to give the NRL/PRS stuff a try. Can't wait!
Ive shot slower but it doesnt imrpove my groups or hits and the discipline i shoot is timed so you have to shoot at a good pace to make time. I appreciate ya watching and the tip though
I may have seen the same thing the other day, SK long range match is good at 50 but opens up at 100 where SK rifel match shot a little worse at 50 but much better a 100 on a fairly windy day. I was always under the impression that a slower bullet had more time for wind to react on it, but I guess the faster bullet has more wind reacting on it.
I think all the marketing about yardage its designed for is just smoke and mirrors. I think they take the less consistent ammo and market it for 50 yards to help sell it. Eley match and tenex projeftiles are higher bc than the other projectiles and have been great at distance for me
So far I’m leaning toward a CZ for a second rifle. I really like the Tikka, but the synthetic stock on a CZ looks better ergonomically and barrel change ability. The Vudoo and the match chamber equipped rifles just look to ammo picky. Right now I have a Savage MKII, the trigger sucks but it cycles anything and with surprising accuracy. Nice video, already waiting on the next one....
