Running into all kinds of problems trying to shoot a milk jug full of water behind a steel plate. You tube music used: Cancun Jazz & Blues Calm Topher Mohr and Alex Elena #blackpowdermaniacshooter #muzzleloading
Every time I start my sunday with Marc and BPMS a big smile appears in my face and stays the whole day through😃 thnx for doing that and Jesus loves you! Udo
@@blackpowdermaniacshooter I guess there are quite a few more followers here (including me) from Germany. Besides to your experiments and visits of events I like especially your „how to…“ videos. There are hardly any channels like that in German language. But never mind- we all learned English at school. And we won’t forget that Jesus loves us.👍 Greetings from Greifswald!
I dry balled one a few months ago, I was like"oh crap now what" and I remembered the black powder maniac has a video on dry balling and stuffing powder down the touch hole, so that's what I did, got that dry ball right out👍
That looks like so much fun Mark, I shoot a lot of paper but there's nothing like gong shooting and with that small hole it would be a great afternoon. Keep your powder dry and keep trusting in the Lord. Cheers from Colorado.
I thought for sure you would get one shot through the center, oh well, they were close and you did Blast that milk jug in the end, 👍I think maybe number 10 shot went through the center and the milk jug dodged the bullet 🤔 Awesome video! As alway's, I enjoyed the video.
It's not the size of the flint, it's the size of the spark in the flint!! I am blessed in the fact that I have not, to date, dry balled a round. But when I first got my Flinchlock (You had some of that) I could not get the danged thing to fire. I pulled more rounds out than I fired out. Until I learned Pyrex and 777 just don't fire well out of a flintlock. I have pulled them, tried some compressed air, and tried to cram powder into the hole. Usually feeding the powder from the pan would cause it to fire but the hang was terrible! I do believe that really helped me control the flinch...now I just need my 30 year old eyes! You didn't shoot through the hole but you hit the steel 9 out of 10 times. A decent day for you! If you ever manage that visit bring a .50 with you and we will fire off some R.E.A.L. projectiles and see if they help your aim. They helped mine!
Thank you for the video that is a hard shot to make with our old eyes and open sights no matter what kind of a gun you use! I am not sure how far you were from your steel plate it is often best to hang the target so it leans to the ground as leaning up the ball can come back at you easier. This is mostly an issue with balls/bullets that are not pure soft lead but can happen. turning the target also helps protect the chain from being struck and broken.
3 kinds of bp ml shooters: those who have dryballed, those who will dryball, and those who have and lie and say they haven't. P.s. I dryballed one at a local meet Sat. So embarrassing. You're right, you get distracted. Keep up the good work, Mark.
Well hitting that teasing round metal plate just thumbing its nose at you Mark? I say you showed that sucker 9 times plum good! That hole shot you did pretty good pretty close! Regardless of missing the tiny hole in the center, I had a great time and I Thank You Kindly Brother Mark! And Many Blessings for All the Family! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania
Have you noticed lately an issue with the quality of flints being put out Mark? I was at a match last weekend, I had two brand new flints, just got them from Track of the Wolf, the flint that was on my Pedersoli Kentucky rifle had probably gotten 30 or more shots out of it before it was too far gone to use, so I put a new TOTW flint on, and in two shots it came apart. I put another new flint on, ONE shot and it came split up the middle more or less. The third one on it now has gone about 10 shots without being knapped but I'm hearing that the overall quality of the flints out there right now isn't all that great.
You win some, you lose some and a few get rained out. Sometimes you get the bear but sometime the bear gets you. That is a more difficult shot than people realize.
Good Sunday morning to everyone. Appreciate the video. Remember everyone through troubled times and the best of times Keep Jesus Christ in your heart. He is the answer ✝️🙏👍
Now far be it from me to say. I have seen precision shooting with Flintlock now that was an $8000 rifle, not an entry-level one. Mans' performance name was Mr Flintlock.
Youre drawin up because your rifle is higher than your shoulder making you uncomfortable and rush the shot. Every hangfire and misfire you're flinching to get out of the discomfort. Comfort and not over thinkin is key. I know it's a pain to fool with, but I'd invest in a good shootin table with seat and a lead sled. You want to eliminate as much human error as possible. I'd bump up my patch thickness as well. That ball seated way too easy for the rifling to grab. If you really wanna improve accuracy, invest in a minie ball mold. Cool vid as always. Happy shootin
Thanks for those tips. Rushing the shot has been a problem. I mainly blame that on the video work. I was use to short battery life on the older cameras I was using and rushed shots to shoot on camera longer. I have better cameras now and NEED to slow down. Its hard habit to break!
